American Idol Top 4 Theme & Spoilers
As I reported before, the Top 4 will be performing Rock songs next week.
However, I’ve also heard the ouvre will be limited to classic rock, i.e., songs of the 1970s-80s. Slash (!!!!) will also be the mentor, as originally repoted by Idolator.
This week, the contestants WILL BE doing TWO songs, however…in another twist differentiating this season’s Top 4 show from previous ones, American Idol will be taking inspiration all those international editions of Idol…
(And I have been hoping for this for soooooo long for some sick ass reason, I swear. I have wanted to see this for some time on this shit show.)
The Top 4 will not only be performing solo renditions of classic rock songs from the 1970s and 80s…the even number means there will be also be DUET performances.
(I received this information from a very reliable source, BTW. Plus, what reason do I have to yank anyone’s chain?)
As I said before, I have always wanted to see the kiddies perform duets on the show. Probably because I am sick & twisted.
I was actually wondering if they’d do something like this, with the duets. I’m getting excited just thinking of an Adam/Allison song. Hee.
With Slash as the mentor, and a pretty cool theme, I have high hopes for this week. Lets hope it doesn’t disappoint!
Do you think we’ll get a Kradam duet ???? A love song preferably – the fangirls will be dropping like flies, lol.
AH. I love Adam. He HAS to make it in the top three.!! And Danny too. I’m not missing homecoming week with him, that’s for sure.! It’s crazy that Kris is SAFE so far, though. Good for him. But, I’m givin’ the title to Adam definitely. He is so talented, and he reaches ranges that no one has ever experience before. No matter how the results turn out, Adam will go far. They all will- guaranteed.
BTW: I’m one of those ‘fangirls’ who would be dropping like flies.

I won’t mind Krallison or Adison though… just not anyone/Danny. Really. That’d be hard to imagine. Especially Adanny [uhh, Adam + Danny]. Since they’re polar opposites. I’m not a Danny hater (I like him, actually, and am glad that he stayed), but I’m not fond of pairing him up with the other contestants. It’s hard to imagine.
I want Adam/Danny just so everyone can see how they don’t compare at all. And for some reason I can see Kris/Allison sounding GREAT together.
Stop it with this Kradam nonsense.
Will the fans of one vote for one and the fans of the other vote for the other and not split their votes? That is what landed both of them in the bottom three and will get one of the eliminated next week if it continues.
Kradam fans are huge fans of BOTH Kris and Adam – but a lot of Kradam fans, myself included, are against vote-splitting. I’m actually encouraging fans to vote for who they WANT to win. I would like a Kradam finale, but that canNOT be achieved by split-voting.
Me, personally: Kris. I prefer how he connects to the song. I still love Adam, but I’m fighting the Kris fight
And I just hope my gut feelings about next week being a train wreck are wrong, lol.

I really wanted them to do two each – boo! Duets are great, but not on a voting night. And who chooses their partners, I wonder. I am keeping fingers crossed for an Adam/Allison pairing.
Whatever works as long as it gets rid of Allison.

Yesss! I’ve wanted them to do duets for awhile. I don’t really care who does a duet together, actually. Adam is my favorite, I like Kris and Allison, and I’m not a fan of Danny but I would be ok with him doing a duet with any one of them – that way I can compare him to the others more effectively
An Allison Kris duet would be great! Maybe they can sing “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough” or “Leather & Lace”.
I don’t think I like the duet idea. Not during the competition. Some will shine, some will fall. Those with duet experience, Adam for instance, should be phenomenal. But he could also overpower someone with a softer voice like Kris. He will have to be careful.
I suspect the duet will be a Kradam. I am hoping for an Adam / Kris final 2 myself, but I don’t think the Powers that Be want that. The PTB are wanting a Danny / Adam final. They might be planning to put Kris in a duet with Adam, expecting Adam’s vocal range to overpower Kris.
I hope for a Dadam duet though. If the final 2 are supposed to be Danny vs Adam put them in a duet now and let them go head to head.

I guess they had the judges judging in tandem to save time so now it’s time to have the singers sing together.
My only thought is that whoever has to sing with Kris is at a disadvantage. Danny, Adam and Allison have much bigger voices than he does so one of them is going to have to hold back in order to not overpower him.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up too high with Slash mentoring this thing. I had high hopes with Tarantino & they still chose stupid songs – at least, some of them did.
No if Kris and Adam do a duet they will be SAFE SAFE SAFE because those to are probly the most popular people left on american idol. With Kris’s soft gentle voice and adam shouty voice they could put on a perfect duet!!!
Supposedly, it is true that there will be duets. BUT….it may not be with each other. BUT, may be with a back up singer or a possibly a rock star.
This kind of makes sense because TPTB might not want to risk fan outrage. Say pairing 1 totally outsings pairing 2. Pairing 2 fans would be livid that their fav got paired with the wrong person and it wasn’t fair, blah, blah, blah.
Umm no. I really think the duet rumor is refering to Slash & Keri Kelli playing guitar WITH the idols on their songs. ‘
1. Slash was with the idols 3 days this week. The mentor is usually only with them once.
2. Slash posted on twitter that he was REHEARSING with the idols.. why would he be doing that if he wasn’t playing guitar for their songs?
I think Idol has totally gone to the birds this season! First, the addition of another “Paula,” then the “save” and now this? Last time I checked this was a solo competition! I even hate the group songs on results nights (esp. this year since they’re lip synched). But this is a travesty! Just when we have a chance to see more than one side of each contestant in one night, we get stuck with duets.
I hate to say it, but I think Idol has “jumped the shark!”

I like the sound of Slash taking this all so seriously now that the producers offered him the freedom to do it his way, despite his fans accusing him of seeling out. I’ve never been so excited for an episode of AI.
