Not only did Danny Gokey forget the lyrics to Jesus Take The Wheel at his show in Newburgh, NY on September 27th, he also performed most of the show with his fly down. During Maria Maria, he finally realized this fact and stopped to fix it. Don’t worry, it’s less than a minute into the video. You can’t miss it.

I don’t even know what to say. ::shakes head:: He definitely is going to be a square peg in a round hole in Country. I’m not seeing it.

I feel ever so slightly embarrassed for him. And hasn’t he been performing these songs for a while now? he should know the words.

Guess what? I thought of something to say. Why does Danny Gokey seem to always get a free pass for bad performances? Scream On = A++ effort, the homecoming fiasco, now this. Not even going to mention his AI performances. Bad lounge singer. Crazy shit.

That was the biggest mystery of the season for me. Allison and Kris (those 2 especially)always seemed to be so consistently good. They got generally good reviews from the judges…but the reviews were always tempered by some little piece of criticism. Danny (for me) was all over the place, and “Scream On” was a joke. They just seemed to not want to acknowledge obvious problems….whereas, they appeared to actually search with a microscope for things that were wrong with other performances. Week after week, the judges were falling all over themselves. I never did get it.
