Uh oh. I think this means your prayers are not working. All that talk about Jesus building up walls to protect not only Adam Lambert from evil, but also those to keep the evil that surrounds Adam from penetrating (hee hee…I just giggled after writing penetrating) the other male contestants clearly need to be stronger!
Nooooo! What if Adam Lamber TURNS Danny Gokey gay??? PRAY, Idol Prayer Warriors, PRAY! I mean, clearly, that’s what this photo suggest, right? Danny has his hand on Adam’s shoulder, a clear sign of affection and support. It MUST mean he’s going gay, right?
Take him in Your arms LORD, and break those chains of darkness & evil that are binding his soul. I ask that he will be influenced by You, Jesus, when he encounters, Danny, Scott, Matt, Kris, & Micheal. I pray for his heart to be drawn to You. I also pray sheilds of protection around All the other contestants on this show. LORD, I do not know what Adam has been apart of that could potentially bring harm or darkness to them as well. Place Walls of prtection around all of these young people LORD, and the Judges & Ryan himself.

I think if this Jesus guy did come back today, he would be very unhappy about the way people discriminate against one another. Come to think about it, maybe that’s why he’s steered clear away from these parts for some time. So keep praying! I’m sure the big guy is listening…and laughing his ass off.

I’m a Christian who accepts diversity and people of all beliefs. But I don’t feel that being gay is a sin, its just how some interpret the Bible. By using the Old Testament (specifically the book of Leviticus) as a basis, you run into a couple of problems. The first is that in the New Testament, Jesus established the New Covenant, which stated that the old Mosaic laws about unclean things were invalid (Jesus in his own person said nothing specifically against homosexuality, although Paul later attributed some remarks to him). The second reason is that if you still want to quote from Leviticus, despite Jesus’ doing away with Mosaic law, then you better be prepared to enforce the whole thing, not just the parts you like. This includes not only the injunction against shellfish and mussels and such, but also against wearing fabrics made of blended fibers, cutting or shaving your beard, sowing mixed seed in a field, and a slew of other things nobody but Orthodox Jews take seriously anymore.
But, still others say, what about 1 Corinthians? Paul says… Well, in his letter to the church in Corinth, Paul referred to restrictions listed in Mosaic law in the Torah, a.k.a. the Old Testament, so basing your argument on Paul’s reference to a source that was declared invalid by Jesus (see above) is a shaky bit of reasoning. Or to explain it more clearly:
1) Paul is not God.
2) When Paul is citing this list of sins he is doing it to make the point that the Church in Corinth is free of these sins, which were listed in the Torah, because of their faith in Jesus. Paul’s letter to the Romans spells out in excruciating detail how the law no longer applies to Christians because they have died to sin and been risen in Jesus. In other words, these categories were good enough for our Hebrew forebears as they went, but as Jesus says to the tricky scribes, Moses gave those laws (specifically speaking of divorce) because the people’s hearts were hard. Jesus clearly demands a higher mode of ethical conduct; in repeated instruction and parables he contrasts what people were taught with what he says. Therefore, Paul’s personal feelings about what kind of people will inherit the kingdom of God, taken as a blanket condemnation of certain behaviors, is not only contrary to Paul’s own teachings on the matter of justification, but deeply opposed to the spirit and teaching of Christ.
3) What Paul is giving a list of, are examples of depraved conduct, as he sees it. His point is that when people turn their backs on God, they are prone to act in all kinds of sick ways; his point is not to list things that Christians should mark in their notebooks as being the “newly revised Levitical code”. Paul is saying, “You guys used to do all kinds of crazy stuff, but now that you have Jesus, you’ve got your act together.” I would say that there is a big difference between lustful, furtive couplings and a committed, healthy relationship. The notion of a committed, healthy homosexual relationship was utterly foreign to early Jews and Christians, as was the notion of abolition [of slavery], racial intermarriage, antiseptics, and all sorts of other things that we take for granted today.
4) Jesus never mentions homosexuality in the Gospels, not once. If it was so important that we had to clamp down on it anywhere and everywhere it rears its terrible head, don’t you think he would have at least, you know, brought it up? There is on the other hand, a specific condemnation of divorce in the Gospels, spoken by Jesus, and yet I don’t hear Focus on the Family saying anything about divorce.

Isaiah certainly didn’t mention Jesus by name or say when the messiah would come. If Isaiah predicted Jesus, why don’t Jews believe in him then? Isaiah is THEIR scripture.
I really don’t care what you believe in. This country has a freedom of religion. But it also has a freedom of non-religion, which is something that people like you ignore. What do you think gives you the right to shove your religious beliefs down everyone’s throats – including non-believers ? Don’t you realize how many people you turn off to religion by this kind of behavior ?

Yes, I try to please God, because He created me and knows what is best for me. And I do it by faith, which means I do not have to see Him to trust that He is real and has laid out a plan for my good. You trust your employer to pay you, right? And you did this by him/her telling you that he/she would. It is very similar to God. I simply accept what He said because He has proven Himself to be right. If you study the book of Daniel in the Old Testament, for example, in there it talks about 3 different cultures and nations that have conquered what is called the area of Babylon: Med-Persia, which is mostly modern Iran; Greece, and Rome. History proves it.
And that is just one example. Also, going back to pleasing someone you have never met: this is a small and simple comparison, but don’t you try to please the police officer, for example, by not running a red light and so avoid getting a ticket? And many of these hard-working people you have not even met or know personally, yet you comply with what they represent. If you are truly interested in knowing God and Jesus, and not “religion,” check out a site called christiananswers.net . That is the quickest place you can go to to get answers. And to answer you, the Bible was inspired by God. The prophet Isaiah, for example, wrote about the coming of Jesus hundreds of years before Christ was born. If homosexuality was something you were born with, God would indeed be guilty of discrimination. I would not be so quick to mock what I don’t know. And you can mock me, too, which is fine. I pray for you, too, that God can show Himself as real to you. There is indeed a God and He came to this earth in the form of Jesus Christ to enable us to make our way back to God because we have strayed. That is basically the message of the movie “The Passion of the Christ.” It shows what Jesus had to endure for us. But yes, if Jesus came back today, He would indeed be upset about many things, one of them your mocking of those who do pray. But He will also very lovingly and gently tell people that they need to change things to be able to live in heaven with God some day. he did that when talking to a woman in chapter 4 of the Gospel of John. Just find a Bible and look it up. Better yet, check out biblegateway.com to find it. You will find a loving Jesus dealing with a woman whose life was not a great one because of choices she has made. There are scriptures all over the Bible that will show you why homosexuality is wrong, and why these people that pray, one of whom I am, pray for those that engage in such lifestyle to change. I think Adam is a great guy and a great artist; but his lifestyle will condemn him to a life after this one away from a loving God Who wants nothing but the best for His children. That is why He has set forth principles to help us to live by that will be for our good. I will go with God and Jesus any day because I know that I don’t know it al and I mess up all the time. I have found out that it pays to live by God’s ways and not mine.

Believe what you want to believe, I have no problem with it. What you believe is your choice and if it makes you happy, so be it. I just am pretty sure those who wrote the Bible may have twisted some things along the way. As have years and years of organized religion. God didn’t write the scripture. Some other people did, and I’m sure they added a few things along the way. As have countless others. How many versions and how many interpretations of the bible are there?
And what if the Bible is simply the Iliad or Odyssey of its time?
A battery of evidence exists that homosexuality is, in fact, genetic. Just like eye color, skin color, et al. I don’t think “God” discriminates.
Homosexuality isn’t a choice. And I don’t think Adam Lambert has a problem with it, so why should you?
I used to be a born again,blessed in the blood,water baptized speaking in tongues christian in my spiritual youth but then I grew up.
I am so sick of these people getting on thier crosses. The only thing that I am praying to Jesus about is that he show ignorant peopel that we are all his children. And all you bible thumpers need not reply to this because I am sick of your bull. If you read the bible then it says God made us unto himself and loves us all. If you thing that being gay is a choice you are totally wrong. Read the bible the way that it was written and get off your soapbox.
