Adam Lambert as an Angel: Scary Idol Fan Photoshop — August 2nd

August 2, 2009

American Idol contestants develop international fan bases, as the show is aired in a zillion countries. Naturally, the show is popular in some countries and ignored in others. For example, Idol is HUGE in the Philippines, and last season’s winner, David Cook, has a decent-sized contingent of Brazilian fans who dub themselves the Brazilian Word Nerds.

Judging by this other-worldly Photoshop job, we now know Adam Lambert has in Guadalajara, Mexico who adore him…let’s just hope these gals have the decency to keep their bras on should he ever come to town for a show.

Every time you throw your bra at Adam Lambert, an angel dies.

FYI, everytime someone throws their bra at Adam Lambert, an angel is impaled on the pearly gates of heaven.

Adam has mentioned several times in interviews that he really does not mind the stuff being tossed on stage…….”Just don’t hit me in the face.”

Make assumptions if you want. Throwing tributes onto the stage is a good-natured compliment to the performer, nobody’s impaling angels. And Adam’s fiercely loyal and growing fanbase is more diverse in age and gender than you assume as well. One poll result revealed 20% aged 40 & over. There will be no trade-in for a newer AI model on this one.

Interesting. Last year tards did the Gaspy angel thing. I bet they just recycled the photshops and stuck a new head on the pix.

I also just started watching AI this year, but I have studied Idol history before season 8 during the last few months. My understanding is that the Glamberts are earily reminiscent of the Claymates and the Cougars For Cook. They also might bear some relation to the crazy Constantine fans. Doesn’t this type of behavior happen pretty often with Idol? The show seems to be an ideal breeding ground for this type of stuff e.g. obsessive following, boundary issues, creepy scrapbooking and photoshopping, x-rated fanfic, etc.

I believe many of the Glamtards ARE the old Claymates, and WordNerds. They drop their old lust for these guys and move on to the next “victim” once the new season starts.

I know the guy is good but this is over the top!
While i understand that appreciating his talent and whatevah and getting to know more about him (not so much) but some people need to get a life.

I just started watching AI last year (because I was stuck at home for a year). Has fans been this crazy or has the level of insanity just gone up a notch?

YEAH OMG. David Archuleta has so many fans in random Asian countries (Phillipines, Singapore, Malaysia…). It’s WEIRD.
Aw, who am I kidding?? They still think if they go to Tiger Heat after Idol they’ll find him wasted of his ass and willing to make out with a woman.

I KNOW! Throwing women’s bras at a Gay man is like throwing spinach at shark.
