Adam Lambert fans chase him down on the set of his new video
Adam Lambert was filming a video at the Alexandria Hotel. Naturally, some Glamberts showed up. I have no idea how far they drove, but they got there. And some of them were hiding in pots from what I understand?
A couple women shot video of their adventure.
They paid $4 to get access to a parking lot. The narrator says she feels like a stalker.
Who are these women, you ask?
This third woman is the same woman who pretended to be a fan of Adam’s friend, Danielle, and went to her performance just to see Adam. She posted pic’s of herself with Adam’s mom and with Adam.
This woman had a friend take a video of her approaching Adam and engaging him when he came out of his hotel.
This woman also made a visit to Adam’s hairdresser.
I feel really bad for Lambert if he can’t even shoot a video in peace. Ugh! Can’t people just leave the poor guy alone and not seek him out in his daily life?

I love how she calls it the “stupid” Idol Demand Concert since Little Rock is winning in votes all other cities are being “shut out.” What a sore loser. Lambert would probably be thrilled to play in LR over any other city since there’s probably a lesser chance of him getting harassed by frauen. Plus LR supposedly gave all the Idols a very warm reception when they played there last summer.
I’ve “stalked”before, but I was 14 then and then it was perfectly normal, and entirely fun too, might I add. I never got close enough at 14 to my favorite band, but let me tell you, I did try…not at great lengths, but I was 14. I was going to marry one of the band members! My “stalkerish” behavior stopped at waiting at the tour bus after the show, and even then, if I was a “stalking” so were thousands of others.
Then I grew up.
Now, as a 30 year old, I can’t even imagine caring enough to want to. I’d feel like a gigantic idiot if I was a 30 year old tarding with the other teenies out there and showing them how it is done by following someone to locations.
The thing that weirds me out, is, don’t some of these women have lives? Maybe I’m different but I work 50 hours a week, I have a husband, and my only children are on four legs with fur, but what free time I do have doesn’t allow me to stalk Adam Lambert and his whereabouts. Even if I lived in the same dang town as Adam I’d think let the man do his job. I know yesterday was Sunday which might have enabled more people to go and stalk, but really? WHY?

Do you know Steph, you have posed a really good question. I admit to being an Adam tard – I am 45 – even when I was a teenager and in love with certain bands I never did stalking – never been the type to fall out of bed in a hurry for anything. If I knew Adam was in my town (totally unrealistic as wouldnt expect Adam in UK til next year anyhow) but I think if news got out that Adam was shooting a film in my area – I admit happily I would have gone to try and catch a peek – as a one-off event I can’t see there’s any harm. Be different if folks were to follow him on a day to day basis just doing shopping or something. Am I insane? is Adam that special? Does that make me a stalker? Sheessh, scary to think could be put in same bracket say as Holly Sockpocket or whatever her name is. For me, I didnt do any of this when I was younger and had the opportunity. I recall when news got out that U2 were shooting a video in the US that was to contain scenes of crowds and fans, forget for what song, imagine if fans were so laid back that they didnt turn up as expected? I am not putting Adam in the U2 bracket (yet:) ), if you want to be famous you have to be prepared that you will get strangers come look at you! But the question here is of the older woman – maybe for many of them- perhaps just free from the restraints of the hard work of bringing up a family and just finding their own freedom and life again – whether it be Adam or any other passion, it may seem like just good fun and, would hope, no harm intended. For now, Adam seems at ease with women’s adoration. Even if it is through gritted teeth.

If Adam Lambert was in Indiana filming his video(hey he was born here!) and it was public knowledge and I could manage to get there without rearranging my life, I’d probably think, hey why the heck not? Would I be one of the thousands there, probably. Would I meet Adam Lambert, nope. Do I want to? Not particularly.
I think going and seeing something when it is public knowledge, just like waiting at the tour buses when everyone else is, isn’t being “stalkerish”, I think that’s being a fan and being a part of something that at the moment feels awesome.
It’s the seeking out of information that bothers me and makes it feel “stalkerish” It’s the finding of things that aren’t public knowledge and making it public, or taking it to your advantage and using it to your benefit and being privy to information that makes you feel entitled. It’s the use of that information to probably get to the main goal: meeting Adam Lambert.
Maybe I don’t understand tard logic, but if you’re going through all the motions to “stalk” wouldn’t the end goal be meeting Adam Lambert? If I stalked I think the purpose would be to meet the person I’m stalking, but maybe I don’t get it.
Just like I never got fans who would camp out for days to get front row at concerts when clearly too old to be doing any camping out.
My Mother is in her late 50’s. I just in a million years can’t imagine the woman who raised me tarding and stalking someone. I think it would mortify me. I’m all for my mom having interests and loving a musician a lot, after all, I am her daughter, I’ve had to get my tard skills from someone!

Idol with its tours actively encourages stalking. Once the tour is over it doesn’t go away. Most real bands who have experienced the craziness never were basically managed at some point by a company which uses the fans sense of entitlement and ownership because of the voting system – and then sets the performers out as bait to be molested as a marketing strategy. Bands had groupies and OTT fans, but there was a security system in place to keep it under control. Not to say there still aren’t batshit crazy non AI tards out there. There are. The difference is that they don’t have semi direct access because of insane fame whoring relatives and friends which seem to be the norm for AI contestants. The internet also leads to this level of crazy. Fantards can swap information like never before. Imagine what it would have been like if messageboards and twitter was around at the time of The Beatles.

They weren’t persuading them to check out ontd_ai. They were having an aim chat with Kris fans and Kris joined in. The women were there b/c they couldn’t get tickets to the show and they wanted to at least hear Kris so they sat by the bar. The Allen’s saw them and were nice enough to take pics and join a chat. It wasn’t ontd_ai related, although the fans are posters for ontd_ai.

Stalking celebs is always crazy, it doesn’t matter who’s doing it, or that it’s been done before. Teenagers doing it is silly, but that seems to go with the hormonal territory; moms and grannies doing it is just plain insane. IMO Idol needs to change its “up close and personal” tour policies to something a little less all-inclusive. I know that all artists and bands have their stalkers, but the guys on AI are “in your living room” a couple of times a week for months. This…along with the “regular-guy” factor, gives these lonely, off kilter women the idea that they ACTUALLY have a relationship with these people. The easy access during the tour fans the flames, and Bob’s your Uncle….instant crazy deluded stalkers.

Ok. Here’s the thing that all offended Glamberts should know…each contestant has a “thing” that gets mocked. For Gokey, it’s his cheeseball smarminess; for Constantine, it’s the self-important greasiness; for Castro, it’s the grifting family; for Cook, Clay, and Adam it’s OTT fans. These qualities that we mock need to really make a statement…so far, Kris and Allison haven’t presented much in the way of mockability. Their fans are less rabid and “out there” (we know they have crazies…they are just far fewer and less vocal). Kris looked promising earlier b/c there seemed to be a dichotomy between the Christian missionary Kris and Frat-boy pic Kris, but upon further review, at least in his case, these things are not mutually exclusive. I think for the most part these are young girls that call themselves “tinhatters”. These post are locked for privacy and either you are a member of ontd_ai or someone has given the above posts to you. I am not a member. I only go on the site for media updates: performances, et al. As far as I can tell these girls and guys are merely playing and LOCK the post so they won’t hurt either Kris, Katy or Adam. My point, that site is not malicious. Not my cuppa, but as far as I can tell they are not hurting anyone.

This is a guy who rarely cried, and he fricking cried (just a little, but ICU wiping tears BB, ICU) on stage in Napa. Katy is obviously trying her best to put a good face on things but is also very strained. In a perfect world, they could do what they want NOW. I just think now would be the worst time ever for a guy and gal to split up – guy’s first album releasing in a week, etc. They are doing what they have to do. I’ve been lurking on ontd_ai and did come across this exchange. From other comments I gather that blubberoddment was mocking the tinhatters, some of whom take their theories very far to the left. cattttmd is one of the serious tinhatters, I think. I’ve never yet come across their serious theories, and I hope the Idols themselves never do. It hasn’t come to stalking yet, I think.
Other than that seeing them take the piss out of Gokey or flail about Idol stuff is pretty entertaining.
The serious business tinhatters have their own LJ. It’s locked and it’s a place for tinhatters/shippers who are in it for fun and those who are serious. Most people are in it for the jokes, very few people are actually serious. For those of us who are members of ontd_ai we understand the context thus we know when people are mocking OTT behavior.
I can understand why middle-aged women with the first thrill of romance long behind them might start having romantic/sexual fantasies about an attractive younger man who shows up on their TV every week. Not the stalking, scrapbooks, etc., but the silly school girl crushes, yes. Undignified? Yes. Silly? Yes. Incredibly amusing? Definitely. But still comprehensible.
Would someone explain to me why middle-aged women might have a fantasy that their male romantic objects — one of them is clearly heterosexual — should have an affair with each other rather themselves? Because that one I just don’t get. Is it that impossible to believe that a straight guy and a gay guy might actually just be friends?

I personally agree with you. He’s bad at hiding things and looks very, very tired and stressed. This is a guy who rarely cried, and he fricking cried (just a little, but ICU wiping tears BB, ICU) on stage in Napa. Katy is obviously trying her best to put a good face on things but is also very strained. In a perfect world, they could do what they want NOW. I just think now would be the worst time ever for a guy and gal to split up – guy’s first album releasing in a week, etc. They are doing what they have to do. It rips my heart out, but we just have to wait. I do understand why, but I hate the pain it causes.

I think she’s better at hiding things than Kris, but who isn’t? Heh. She has a very expressive face, and I’d like to see her do comedy – for some reason, she reminds me of Lucy Ball.

I’m pretty sure that the grabbing-Kris’s-mom-and-brother-at-a-show thing didn’t happen like that. In fact, if it’s the encounter I’m thinking of, the fangirls put the video up on youtube afterwards. From the way they told the story, at least, it all seemed pretty harmless and Kris and company seemed to be having fun in the video.
It can be argued that the girls did cross a line when they made conversation/asked for a picture to begin with, but that’s not really the same level as laying in wait outside of a hotel or stalking the poor guy’s hairdresser.
What. the. fuck? That’s all I can say about that.
If someone as milquetoast as Kris Allen can attract these kinds of crazies, there is no hope for American culture.
Some time ago I saw a video interview of KA on MJs in which he was asked to describe a weird fan encounter. He said that once he’d been at a restaurant with his WIFE and friends and a “fan” came up to him and asked for an autograph. She asked for a hug, and as he was hugging her, she kissed him and stuck her tongue down his throat.
Perhaps the fan had heard that he doesn’t really love his wife, and hoped the incident would galvanize a divorce. But she apparently HADN’T heard that he *really* wants to “fuck dudes.”
A lot of the girls on ontd_ai like to goof around. For example, blubberoddment was kidding around and teasing about srs business tinhatting.
What is “Tinhatting?” I have read that phrase but, have no idea what it means.

Why go there? I am actually a member of that site and NEVER go to the blogs. I have been to MJ’s blog recently posted my comments and moved on because I didn’t want to get annoyed. Adam’s fans (not all) are crazy. I am told it goes with idol territory. I was also told that once season 9 rolls around they will stake claim in some new piece of meat and leave Adam alone. I am becoming less and less inclined to believe that.
That’s a lot of trouble to go through to watch some guys unloading crap.
