Spamming Fantards Strike Again!!!

December 30, 2009

You know how Idol fantards just LOVE to spam any and every online poll? Case in point–Broadway.com’s 2009 Star of the Year!

Constantine Maroulis, star of the hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages, has been voted 2009 Broadway.com Star of the Year by readers of the site. Maroulis was the overwhelming choice of more than 25,000 voters for the year’s top honor.

Because seriously, on what planet would the greasiest, skeeviest and most narcissistic contestant in American Idol history beat out such luminaries as:

Nominees included Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman of A Steady Rain, Gavin Creel of Hair, Will Ferrell of You’re Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush, Angela Lansbury of Blithe Spirit and A Little Night Music, Alice Ripley of Next to Normal and Geoffrey Rush of Exit the King.

I imagine fans of Murder, She Wrote and James Bond have better things to do than spam online polls, agreed? While this may have gotten Waking VD a mention on the American Idol website, its really not a big deal, nor is it any indication of him becoming a legitimate thespian. However, I still appreciate the fact that an illustrator named Justin “Squigs” Robinson still managed to capture an honest portrait of THE SKEEVY ASSHAT WHO HAS BUTT SEX WITH TEENAGERS, dontcha think?

Of course, perhaps Constantine Maroulis will always have a future in the underbelly of reality TV? But aren’t you thinking the same thing I am–Tinsley Mortimer probably could have hired someone a lot better.

These fantards are just as bad as the ones who spammed the Rolling Stone poll to get Adam Lambert to #1 as Entertainer of the Year over the likes of u2, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Green Day, Bon Jovi and Kings of Leon.

    Yeah. ‘Nuff said.

OK I am pissed at Glamberts right now. They are freaking out because Cassidy Haley tweeted this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VA4vVKkSVCU

It’s apparently the first time gay sex has been portrayed on daytime tv. The reaction is “OMG ABC WILL SHOW FUCKING GAY SEX BUT COMPLAINS ABOUT ADAM’S PERFORMACE?! HYPOCRITES!!!”

Ummm no. Adam’s performance was a lot more graphic than anything in that scene. I mean sex was barely even implied. Adam stuck his face in a guys crotch! While I find both acceptable, I totally see how Adam was worse. If they truly cared about gay rights, they would be thanking ABC instead of cussing them out and calling them hypocrites! This small step gave me so much respect for the network. I can’t believe they are in an uproar about it.

I wish more Adam fans were like you.

It still surprises me that people are still not getting that it had less to do with his actions, and more to do with the fact that he did didn’t follow the expected script. Even Adam has acknowledged it. Repeatedly.

The funniest thing about the gay sex scene is that if they’d just jump on the bandwagon these shows could save themselves with it. Slash is the rage now. All the bored housewives want it.

Although, OLTL would be better off dead. I know some good people who got fired from that show. Not a lot of good things to say there.

Many Adam fans are like me. It’s just the Glamberts are so obnoxious they overpower the quieter saner fans.
I know, right? I ❤ slash! Why don't they just get we want gay porn?

That look on his face in the pic above! Who LOOKS like that when people are paying to see him perform? He looks like he’s about to hurl! Whatever reality show he is appearing on, the ratings will no doubt take a nosedive.

Re: Adam and the BB thing; that is just nasty. I accidentally friended some Adam freak on FB and she has a crowd of faithful minions who echo her every delusional statement about him. SHE wears out the BB crap until I’m ready to retch from it. I thought it meant “bad boy” or something. It’s hard to keep up with this stuff unless you actually visit their boards which I don’t care enough to do.

I was confused to what BB meant for a while too until I finally asked someone. I don’t get the point of an abbreviation for a word as short as baby…

Why do people even say “bb” anyway? That’s lame. It’s not like baby is a word requiring abbreviation.

No self-respecting theatergoer would buy a ticket from them, so who exactly goes on that site ?

    ConFan. To spam polls.

I think they do have a message board of sorts which people frequent, however, its a bullshit site. And the ConFan were successfully able to spam a ridiculous poll. Because Idol fantards never met an online poll they didn’t like.

Yeah, I only know them by the message board, which a lot of theatre folk frequent. Lots of insiders, if you know where to look. I had no idea about the ticket part.

Broadway.com is an online ticket scalper. They fleece unsuspecting tourists into paying high prices for the tickets and then slap a $40 service fee per ticket on top of it. No self-respecting theatergoer would buy a ticket from them, so who exactly goes on that site ?

  6. December 31, 2009 11:27 am

I don’t get it. He’s not attractive, by all accounts I’ve read he’s a total sleaze and he doesn’t have that much talent. What exactly is it about him that makes people fantard?

While I’m not a huge Adam fan I can understand why he has so many fans. He’s pretty, talented and has a huge amount of personality. I do get the whole fantarding thing because I may be just a bit of a fantard for Cook.

For the record, if I had known about that poll I would have voted for Angela.

This is completely off topic, but does anyone else find it uncomfortable when some of Adam’s fans call him “bb” or “our BB” (which is an abbreviation of “baby”) all the time? Specifically the ones that are old enough to be his mother. I can never figure out whether they’re saying it from a motherly point of view or as a romantic/friendly endearment like some of the younger fans do. Or both, because a lot of his fans of this age tend to see him both as their child (like “our Adam is a good boy who loves his mother”) and as a “hot, gorgeous, sexy” man they’re attracted to, or at least that’s the vibe I get. It feels…incestuous?

I don’t even really know what I’m talking about so I’ll stop now. lol. I feel rather awful/irrational, but it has been bothering me and I can’t pinpoint why. Maybe I’m just ageist.

No, that’s creeps me out as well…I’ve seen a lot of “BB Kris” too. I guarantee that a lot of the over-fifty crowd does not mean this in a motherly way. (Do they refer to their own sons as “BB”? I doubt it) eeeewwww.

I wonder if other fanbases do this…or is it a Kradam thing?

Anytime a fan personalizes the object of their affection, or claims ownership, it’s creepy. Most suspect it goes back to the voting because we have some sort of hand in their fate, but it doesn’t just happen to Idol contestants. “Our” scares me a lot more than a usually sarcastic “bb.”

What gets me most is when fans start using nicknames that the person’s family or friends use. Fans are not family and friends. You don’t know this person, ya know?

The sense of ownership and entitlement IS creepy as hell. I’m trying to think back to some of the terms the Santards and frau used that used to make me want to hurl, it’s like they owned him and even used “Shyama”, which is a nickname, for his sister, as if she was a close friend or family member – what they called the “famjaya”…. UBER CREEPY. I know other fanbases have their versions of it. And they refer to their Idols as OUR boy. See that a lot too.

That BB shit is annoying as hell and makes me not post at ontd, the main site which can be funny at times still. Not as much of a tard wasteland as ontd_ai – but still… That and “stan”, and other annoying words that I can’t recall at the moment. People who use those terms lose any credibility in an instant. They are so into their circle jerk they don’t see how stupid they look to outsiders.

No, I agree, it’s creepy. I’ve noticed that about some older fans too. I remember one person who I have now blocked on twitter out of fear saying “Adam is so sexy and gorgeous! UNF!” and then going on to say “And he is so good to his mother. I wish he was my son.”
      I was so confused…

Sounds a lot like Glamberts. Except there are more than 3 Glamberts. 3 is a good estimate for Constantine’s loyal fanbase, right?

Glamberts may be annoying, and delusional…but at least the object of their affection is not a repulsive greaseball douchebag. I’m not part of the Adamania, but at least I get it. After this amount of time (not to mention discovery of certain facts) I’m surprised that your guess is as high as 3, lol! Some people have extremely low standards!
