After seeing this video, I no longer believe that Adam is gay. I believe Adam is a 12 year old girl. Sorry, all this melodrama- especially form someone who is allegedly male- just makes me giggle.
8sourcandy – it always cracks me up when someone calls someone else a “judgmental asshole” because it can’t be done without also making a judgment. In any case, everything I’ve seen of Adam makes me believe that AMA Adam is in-line with his basic nature and artistic sensibility. I don’t like his voice so it makes no difference to me which direction he takes, but I could at least admire a willingness to stay true to his passion even it it meant, perhaps, being relegated to niche performer status. To a non-fan, subdued emo Adam looks like more pandering.

This is a huge improvement over that other thing. Simple Adam, with less makeup, is a win. And it’s also quite Kradamy, if I do say so myself. The acoustic guitars in the background as if he plays them? No, we all know he doesn’t play, but we know who does.

Ahhh, I enjoy seeing Adam without the 10 pounds of MAC makeup. After being saturated for years with different video techniques, I cant honestly critique his work. Is it good? YES. Great? Umm, no but I don’t see many videos that I jump out of my seat for. Ever.

I was pleasantly surprised by that video after the clusterfuck that was the FYE one, and I must say it’s much better. Less is more in Adam’s case can’t be said enough. He does overact something awful (those soulful looks are the pits; who does that when they’re “alone”?), but the camera work is decent and it looks like either a ton of Vaseline was used or he’s had a chemical peel which he should have had months ago. He is gorgeous in that final shot. That apartment is amazing and I want it too. I love the wide open spaces look and wish I possessed it. I’m no hoarder, but when you’ve lived in the same house for 30 years, there’s way too much stuff in it.
I’m happy for all the sane Lambert fans here and I’m sure all the sparkle cows are in ecstasy!
Even though I like this Adam better, I still have no idea who he is as an artist. It’s one extreme to the other. I am getting whiplash. It’s like he has no identity. Adam seems to be playing these different parts to see which one sticks and the public buys. I am just confused.
This song was the only one I could tolerate from his album. Like him, the songs are all over the place. But hey at least people are talking about his music today. 🙂
I don’t think he knows who he is as an artist, or cares for that matter. He knows that he wants to be a SUPERSTAR and hang out with the cool kids, and whatever will get him there is what he will do.

You are wrong on all counts. You are merely regurgitating an anti-Adam mantra that, to be quit honest, is getting old. The childishness of these fan wars makes rational and intelligent people seem so narrow minded and trite.
nope, don’t buy that at all. While I am sure he in enjoying his newfound access to the cool clubs and the cool kids, i don’t think he has any desire to be famous just for being famous (a la hilton or lohan). i think he views himself as an entertainer who has the ability to entertain in different media and genres. I don’t get the argument that he doesn’t know or care who he is. I think he knows exactly who he is and what he wants to do and is doing it. Just because all his songs and videos don’t look and sound exactly the same doesn’t indicate a lack of identity. I do think he would prefer to go the nutball OTT glam route all the time, but realizes that may not be commercially viable (which is too bad, cause I like it.)
It all goes hand in hand with him still feeling like that middle school kid with no friends and wondering what to do to make others like him. I appreciate that, but the guy is approaching 30. Get past the juvenile emotions and identify who you are and what you want. If being an OTT club scene kid in dress-up is his thing, so be it. There’s nothing wrong with that.

What makes him unique to me is his transformation, continuing evolution and the way he presents his talent. Well, we all know Kris isn’t the most articulate person in the world. What I understood from Kris’s statement was that Adam now gets to reveal another side of his onstage persona that wasn’t suitable for “family-friendly” AI. The club kid persona and the troubled loner are facets to a character that he plays, and it works remarkably well to the fantasies of the sparkle cows. I don’t think he’s planning to tone it down for good, because he obviously went the OTT route for the NYE party. He’s sort of like Cristina Aguilera like that. Excessive make-up and oversinging one minute, then more natural and subdued the next. I can understand that.

I think the disgruntled celebrity thing is tired, and not appropriate in this context although I get what they were going for. I do actually like the song and I think Lambert actually looks good in most of the video, but I ain’t squeeing.
No squee here. I’ve actually never been the squeeing type. I’m just relieved that he didn’t make me cringe or want to throw things at my computer screen. This is major progress for him.
My $0.02:
I’m still not 100% sold on the song. It still sounds like something Pink would have sung five years ago. However, Adam looks MUCH better in this video without all the clown make-up and OTT hair. A natural Adam is a better-looking Adam. While I suspect a soft lens was used to mask any flaws, Adam still looked good.
With so much spent for the FYE video, RCA was looking to save money on this MV. Smart move.
Adam still overacts, but it’s not as bad as usual.

I agree with erinnthered in that it’s too soon for Adam to play the “rage against the machine” card. Mariah Carey can do it because she’s been around for 20 years, went through a tough marriage with Tommy Mottola, suffered a breakdown over the debacle that was “Glitter” and is still a bit unstable after all of that. Mariah has legitimate issues regarding her career.
Adam is less than a year removed from Idol and already he has this much angst? It’s hard to believe and can be construed as whiny and ungrateful. Why does he have reason to complain? Isn’t he lving his dream of being a star?
It’s much too early to go with the Elvis mantra of getting everything you wanted, but losing what you had. Adam hasn’t earned anything yet. Despite the beliefs of some, Adam isn’t a star right now. He’s cosmic vapor. You’re wishing he may and wishing he might, but don’t go wishing on Adam’s star yet, because he doesn’t have one.
And with all that, the video is kind of boring. It’s basically Adam sulking and pouting. Look at him grab at his hair! He’s leaning heavily against a bookcase! He makes sad faces when he’s behind closed doors! He’s so emotional! Whatever. Why should I care about some random guy’s hangups?
It’s not a bad video by any means and will probably be well-received, especially by diehard Adam fans. But the director shouldn’t have been so heavy with the artist-in-turmoil motif. First, Adam is for your entetainment. Now he asks what do you want from him. Adam needs to make up his mind. Find a theme and stick to it. If anything, he comes off as very wishy-washy.

That’s exactly what I was thinking — but it works. He looks SO much better and YOUNGER without all that sh*t plastered on his face. Even within the video, the natural shots are so much more attractive than the “performance” ones. The plotline was cliched, but they always are on these things, aren’t they?
I still think he’s a terrible actor, though. (And I want that kitchen!).
I have to say, I really loved this. The simplicity is great, and Adam looks great without the heavy makeup. Less is indeed more. 🙂

His band looks decent too. The “look at me ma, I’m trying too hard to be a RAWK STAR” get ups are a joke. He did overact in the video. I do not foresee an Oscar in his future.

I like WWFM way better than FYE, there are things I like and dislike about the video (all things that have already been talked about)…but I agree he looks gorgeous w/o all the extras. Two thumbs up.
He looks so much better without all the glitz and makeup. He also looks about ten years younger. This is the first post idol work of Adam’s that I liked.

I like this Adam. I didn’t like the the band shots though. To OTT for my tastes(makeup/overacting). I also wish in the song he didn’t have the screeching. However, overall A LOT better than FYE. Less is more Adam.

Okay, first off, I liked the video. Very well made, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen Adam look physically attractive, IMHO. He looks like himself without the BS makeup and hair. I like it.
Having said that, this video used two video cliches I can’t stand. The first is using the troubled celebrity storyline. You have to be Britney or Mariah to pull that off, and that’s because they actually have trouble, and are huge celebrities. Adam is dewdrop in the ocean of celebrity. The second is the camera as a character. Especially here. It came off as frauen bait. God forbid they cast a guy as the foil. Even if they only show him in a photo, or the last scene. It was a scapegoat, and it bugs.
Again, I really liked the video, and I wish this was the direction he would take. In fact, lose the hair and makeup in the band shots too. Just tone it down. For the first time I saw a human being, and I like what I saw.
Also, I really want that apartment. They shot that in LA. Any idea where?
FYI, the only “camera as a character” music video I can remember liking is “Smack My Bitch Up” by The Prodigy, and yet, I love Peep Show.
I think the story was more about a personal relationship than about his celebrity angst. That one shot of him in the limo shows that he is torn between a demanding career and being a committed lover. I like his acting here, too. We were discussing that topic a few days ago, and here he is emoting and NOT playing to the rafters. I thought he was believable, authentic and visually arresting.

I know the storyline was work vs relationship. I just don’t like “tortured celebrity” as a career choice for musicians in videos. Just be a musician leaving a show with a few fans. No paps, or reporters, or red carpet necessary. I find it arrogant unless you have one heck of a track record. Plus, Adam wasn’t arrogant in this video. There was a disconnect for me.
I totally blame my issues on the director and writer. Adam did a great job. I agree, he really good job emoting here. I felt that he was vulnerable in those scenes.

Ending clip is gorgeous. Boy is so pretty without the caked on makeup! I can’t get over that. My favorite singer, Christina Aguilera, has the exact same problem (except worse). I am so pleased with this video. He is absolutely beautiful. I watched this earlier with friends, who are still on the fence about him, and they were equally impressed.

Back in June I had an argument with the IT guy at work about Adam. He has access to my files therefore, was aware of my INTEREST. Anyway, he said that Adam was a loser and that he would never be a rock star and that Kris was so superior because he played instruments, Blah Blah Blah. So, last month he asked if he could copy my FYE tracks and I said yes. Well, yesterday he came over to my desk to tell me that Adam was a ROCK GOD. That is exactly what he said. ROCK GOD, followed by my favorite expression…YOU WERE RIGHT!!! (I swear on my life!!) This guy is a musician and singer himself, and went on to tell me that he was very impressed with Adam’s selection of songs and his writing; ‘Rabbit Hole’ got high marks as did ‘Broken Open.’ He also loved WWFM, Fever, Soaked and Music Again. He told me that it may take a while for people to recognize Adam’s talent because he is a little ahead of were music is right now. I was stoked because I do respect this guy’s opinion and was crushed by his initial reaction. I am very, very confident Adam will do well. 🙂

You can fantasize that they are lovers because it’s hot, but they REALLY are just friends. Yes, they hug incessantly and Kris has had erections during their duets, but they never kiss or have sex. Adam is gay; Kris is straight and married. Lets face it, if Kris LOVED Adam don’t you think he would have kicked Katy to the curb by now?
1. Yeah, as much I wan to think they are lovers, I know it’s just in my head.
2. If he loved Adam, do you think Kris could possible break poor Katy’s heart. I think not. He’d feel too guilty.

So they filmed it in the media center of a community college over Christmas break?
It looks super el cheapo to me. Which is actually not bad thing, because he won’t have to sell as much to recoup the cost of the video. The first one looked pretty expensive, given all the dancers and S&M people and costumes and the club they filmed in. This one has no costumes, no extra people, a hand-held camera (very Rent) and the chilly and spare community college media center where they could throw a bed and some messy bedclothes into the janitor’s closet long enough to film it as a “bedroom.”
I agree that he looks way better (and about a hundred years younger) with a minimum of makeup. So that’s an improvement.
It really seems like they set out to do the total opposite of everything connected to FYE. Back to the drawing board with a relaunch and a soft, unhappy puppy for the frauen, I guess.
Some of us prefer puppies.

I agree that this video looks a lot cheaper though, which is good, because they probably don’t have a ton of money left to blow. They have to spend more carefully now.
Do you think the media center doubled as the apartment? Possible, but that was one swanky media center for a community college. With that kitchen and the trendy looking, expensive furniture?
Seriously, I want to know where they shot the apartment scenes. I want to find something similar…for when I can afford it, anyway.

I like this video. He’s still a little over acting, but I can see that in there is a fantastic musical theatre actor. I imagine that he makes people cry.

WOW…I really, REALLY liked that! I saw the sneak preview (20 sec.) clip on the Best Week Ever site and thought the glances at the camera were weird. Now that I see it in context it all makes sense. I just…isn’t making the camera view be the person he’s fighting with making it intentionally ambiguous as to the gender? Part of me thinks it’s clever, but part of me feels it’s disingenuous. And DAMN it you Glamberts…I see what you see in him when he glances at the camera leaning on the bed at the very end. I kind of…oh jeez, I SIGHED, okay?
An aside…tonight driving back from the tanning bed (yes, I’m gonna get cancer, I don’t care I HATE being pale) I heard WWFM on the radio for the first time, and though I like the song I had a little inner bitchalogue, about how I haven’t heard Kris on the radio yet, and damn it if I didn’t live in a semi-rural area where it seems everything they play is already recurrent, and if I hear that same Taylor Swift song ONE MORE TIME…and then “Live Like We’re Dying” started and I felt stupid.
I actually heard Whataya Want From Me once on the radio when I was in STL. During Seacrest’s morning show when I was driving to Bikram.
I enjoy tanning because I hate wearing makeup and being pale. Like 1-2x/week when I get around to it. Haven’t in over a week, though, obviously. But now that the temperatures are going to go up this weekend I’ll walk back over there again. Good times.
BTW, where is 8Sour? I would have thought she would be all over this by now. Lauren’s here, Lamberkitten is obviously sleeping given the time difference, but Sherena and 8Sour haven’t shown up! I posted Lambert! Yoo hoo, where are you?

You know I actually DON’T tan my face? I turn off the face lamp and cover my face with a towel. I already have a few lines and don’t want them to get any worse. But I use the Clinique bronzing powder so I match the rest of my body, and my skin actually looks more even with it on.
I sent it to Sour on twitter so she might not be done flailing yet.

All present and correct now! The vid has been pulled for some reason but I managed to see it on youtube on a link from AO – not the best quality so will be nice to see the official release – but yep – shows all kindsof Adam in there which does for me, and the melting smile at the end after all the angst was cute. But I think I prefer the vid to For Your Entertainment – as is more my cuppa tea. Thanks for posting TI 🙂
I love the FYE video.
My friend’s six year-old son is also very intrigued by the video and watches it all the time. A few weeks ago my friend went into his room and he was standing in front of the mirror pushing his hair up into a faux-hawk like Adam’s.
Yesterday, he told me that he thought Adam was cute. 🙂

WHAT? You heard WWFM on the radio? In a rural location no less…is it rural UTOPIA? Because I never hear EITHER Kris or Adam on the radio. Granted, my radio listening is confined to supermarket shopping and doctor visits, but still, by now I would have thought I would have heard one of them. 😦
My friends have Sirius radio and hear them both, all the time.
I’ve heard WWFM on radio ONCE! I cannot count the number of times I have heard LLWD. It’s a pretty popular song. My mom once said she heard it 4 times in one day at the office she worked at.
come to nyc….WWFM is played all the time on our area stations, makes the noon and evening countdowns as well. And it must be played in other areas as well since it is now in the top 40.
I went to NYC for two days a little while back. I actually heard the tail-end of LLWD in one of the stores. xD
Baltimore area doesn’t play WWFM. That’s for sure.
To be fair, it WAS on Seacrest’s show…a station in Alabama airs it late afternoon/evening.
