Idol Quickies: February 19, 2010
MJ has posted photos of last night’s Top 24 party. Even a few past Idols showed up to take advantage for free booze and appetizers. Michael Johns is not looking good.
While at MTV yesterday, I wrote an update to their original article about the Chris Golightly. Yup. Me. Hey, they needed someone and I volunteered. Thought it would be fun to test my reporting skills. It felt as if it had been awhile. And I got to pretend I was working at MTV. Heh heh.
While I cobbled the Chris Golightly article together, Jim Cantiello crafted a much better blog post about the Top 10 American Idol Twitter accounts you should be following. If you have not heard, season 9 will be the first time the contestants are permitted to have open Facebook, MySpace and Twitter accounts. This could be very interesting.
Simon Cowell participated in a conference call with Idol journalists. I like Simon, so I’m a bit pissed he suggested Perez Hilton as a possible replacement. I chose to believe he was only pointing out that the show will lose all relevancy without him, and since Perez Hilton is is not-at-all relevant, it would be the perfect fit. Yahoo’s Lyndsey Parker asked Simon if Noel Gallagher would take over the role. He says it kind of maybe might be a possibility. (He also called Lyndsey Leslie. But she was totally okay with it.)

Kris is already back from Haiti! I guess it was just a daytrip to do some fact finding and get some footage for Thursday’s Idol show. But it looks like Kris got his hands dirty as he said he hoped to do, anyway.

I’m wondering what, if anything at all, Haiti is getting out of this. I mean, Idol’s obviously exploiting the situation (I hear there’s gonna be a segment on Kris’s trip to Haiti), otherwise there’d be no cameras pestering those people trying to get some rest in the tent. I hope Kris’s compromise was accompanied by a generous donation to the relief by the powers at idol. Nothing against Kris, I think what he’s doing is great and he probably HAD to do the whole camera thing… I would just hate to find out that this whole thing left no significant benefit to a few displaced Haitians.
I don’t see how any person can single-handedly provide a “significant benefit” to any country devastated by a natural disaster. It’s almost as if these people are going to hold Kris and AI responsible if the entire country isn’t back to normal by the time IGB airs. This fanwar bullshit is getting ridiculous.

In the middle of a thread mainly about something Lambert said about wearing fur. I don’t know what he said. Probably something stupid and shallow since they are claiming he is not.

February 19th is truly a momentous day…a visit from the author…awesome.
And to think, on the very day her novel was to be released! We are so blessed. I’ve been using the donation money to get my new site up, but would anyone be mad if I used say, $20 of it and used whatever Christian charity Chik-Fil-A is associated with (even though I disagree with all of that crap 100% and never even eat at Chik-Fil-A myself) and make a donation in her name? I think her address is public. I can just picture her throwing a fit every time send her subsequent donation requests.

Seriously I hope no one here truely believes that KKK’s really a lawyer. I mean the fact that she can spend so much time posting comments (full of spelling and grammar mistakes btw) and writing a book obviously shows that she’s just making up her identity. Otherwise she could have probably bought her cert from somewhere. I think people at the old folks’ home or mental hospitals do have that much free time though.
Anyway, I hope that if she ever gets to publish her book, 19E and FOX will sue her and her publisher to bankruptcy. Nothing pleases me more than to see her begging on the streets.
