Kris Allen performing Coldplay’s “The Scientist” in Tampa

February 14, 2010

After Friday’s Rock My Town show in NYC, Kris Allen, his erstwhile bandmates, and Allison Iraheta flew to Tampa for another show. During this time Adam Lambert got shit-faced and lost his mobile (it’s okay, Lambert, I feel your pain) and reportedly made out with some club dudes before waking up hungover for his intimate VH1 acoustic show.

Kris Allen, the Kris Allen Band and Allison Iraheta could have all gotten drunk, too. I have no idea. Then again, they didn’t have heavily made-up aggressive women in the midst of overwhelming hot flashes groping their crotches. If I were Adam Lambert, I would have to be drunk during that crap, too. And for at least 24 hours after. Gotta erase the pain away, ya know?

Anyhoo, Kris Allen and his buddy Cale decided to do Coldplay’s The Scientist while driving somewhere and randomly hearing it on the radio. It’s good.  Enjoy.

    Facts | 5/27/2009, 10:39 am EST

Both fan sites showed how to power text. I repeat – BOTH fan sites showed directions for power voting.

The watch parties consisted of 2-3 thousand fans that gathered each week to support Kris, Conway and the state.

AT&T reps (private/individual AT&T reps) were at the last watch party with about 10 phones to “trial” and they were working the crowd handing out business cards and answering questions.

Why wouldn’t AT&T be there? They are the sponsor. Shouldn’t they be there? They should have been giving out free phones – for publicity. Geez. Chick-Fil-A gave out thousands of sandwich coupons. Are they going to be targeted for their support?

10 phones – even used for power texting did not win the vote for Kris.

Arkansas did stand behind Kris and supported him as their own.

    Adam was/is good.

Adam and Kris are basically saying that they both deserved to win – and are good with what happened.

    Why the continued whining?

Funny thing is, Chik-fil-A gives out thousands of sandwich coupons every day in the South. They hand them out all over the place. Anywhere they can find a place that will take them. Years ago, when I worked for Borders, there was a Chik-fil-A in the shopping center, and they came by all the time. Are they shills for Borders too?

I know!! Who hasn’t had a chick-fil-a nugget on a toothpick shoved in their face by a “Sample Nazi” in the mall? They are pretty aggressive with the freebies, lol!

Actually Chick-fil-A (like them or not) is very helpful at the community level. I used to help out with a youth organization in the summer, and they were always quick to provide assistance…ie: donating items for raffles, allowing the use of their parking lot (and water) for “car wash” fundraisers, coupon donations, etc… They also have different “nights” here, where clubs and schools are allowed to use their facilities for something or other (I usually steer clear during those times). I think it’s probably corporate policy…like a “good neighbor” thing.

I’m having a REALLY hard time finding anything suspicious with the old reliable Google method. Perhaps KMK has a “Super-Sekrit” search engine.

An American Idol whistleblower! Shouldn’t you be in a safehouse somewhere? You are so, so brave singlehandedly taking on AT&T and Chick-Fil-A, not to mention 19E? This book of yours could bring three major business powerhouses to their knees. My God, the power you hold in your hands! Irrefutable evidence! Take off your blinders, people! Kerry Kolsch knows all.

But hold on a minute, just a quick question, if Kris couldn’t get change if he sang in a subway, why would you even want Kris to be in the finale over Danny or even Allison? It really doesn’t sound like you think his vocals are good at all. Why root for a bad singer?

Things aren’t quite adding up here for me. So,I think I’ll be going with the delusional Lambert fan, if you don’t mind. You almost had me, though. ::wink:: ::wink::

  6. February 19, 2010 6:41 pm

By the way, my musical comments go like this. One man has extraordinary vocals and the other couldn’t get change if he sang on the subway. I do not ponder “arrangements”. Anyone who denies that Adam is vocally superior makes themselves look foolish to the musically educated.

It’s a question of preference. And yes, you do ponder arrangements. Because you claim the majority of Chris Allon’s were masterminded by Adam Lambert.

And I really hope your book determines this vast conspiracy was originated not by Idol, Arkansas, or 19 Entertainment, but by one man. A man named Dan T. Cathy. Chris Allon is the 2009 American Idol only because Dan T Cathy is trying to sell the people chicken and christianity.

I must be deaf and dumb, because I think Tom Waits is vocally superior to Adam Lambert. I could care less about upper range. I find Waits’ voice much more pleasing to my ear.

Yes, Lambert must have masterminded Chris Allon’s arrangements. When he’s not promoting his own album, he’s consulting with Kriss on the rearrangements of Chris’ album tracks, and telling Khris which songs to tag in his covers. That U2 tag in Falling Slowly was totally Adam’s idea.

Seriously I hope no one here truely believes that KKK’s really a lawyer. I mean the fact that she can spend so much time posting comments (full of spelling and grammar mistakes btw) and writing a book obviously shows that she’s just making up her identity. Otherwise she could have probably bought her cert from somewhere. I think people at the old folks’ home or mental hospitals do have that much free time though.

Anyway, I hope that if she ever gets to publish her book, 19E and FOX will sue her and her publisher to bankruptcy. Nothing pleases me more than to see her begging on the streets. To me, she’s on par with the world’s #1 douche, Perez Hilton.

  7. February 19, 2010 6:19 pm

Deez If you want to learn anything about me you can ask me directly. You may perceive me as being a delusional Lambert fan hell bent on destroying Kris’ career because I am pissed that he beat out Adam, but you are wrong. If Kris won fair and square I would not criticize him at all. I wanted Kris to be in the final instead of Danny. Kris put himself in my crossfire when his state stole Adam’s title.

What I find extraordinary is that you would take the time to look up my history to find fault with me rather than looking for the truth. I call Kris the Chick- fil-a Idol not because Kris gave shout outs to them but also because of what Chick-fil-a did for him at his Watch Parties. Thousands and thousands of dollars were donated and I have pictures of Kris and the cows to prove it. What’s more I know exactly how and why AT&T brought in the win for Kris and it was with far more than 80 phones. There were a lot more improper relationships that were detrimental to the other contestants in Season 8. Every allegation that I make can be proven with irrefutable data. Kris’ winning votes came from Arkansas. Somewhere in cyberspace all human activity is tracked. At all times during Season 8 Adam was far more popular. In fact he was more popular than Danny and Kris combined so don’t buy the Kris got Danny’s vote bull. If what I am saying is true are you going to own up and say it was wrong or are you say something lame like Kris deserved to win because he plays instruments? Think about it, the book will soon be out.

Go ahead and publish your book. The only people who will care are the ones who are convinced everything in it will be true already – the sparkle cows, in other words. Nobody else cares what some psycho Adam Lambert fan spreads across the internet – putting it in print doesn’t change a thing.

    • February 19, 2010 6:51 pm

I guess my question to you would be…why do you care? Adam got a record contract and is doing just fine without the “title” of American Idol. Whether your “so called information” is true or not, why do you feel the need to rehash something that ended over 8 months ago? Just to prove that your guy is better? Music is subjective, honey and not everyone in the world has to think the way you do or even appreciate the same things that you do. The world wold be a boring place if we all thought or acted the same.
I feel quite certain that neither Adam or Kris care about this nonsense because they both are doing what they love and are genuinely happy for each other’s success. Maybe you should take a page from the book of the guy you admire so much.
But whatever helps you sleep at night….

Follow up question: Kris has been tweeting about Taco Bell a lot lately. You’re coming for them next, aren’t you? I bet they spearheaded a Tacos For Kris Allen initiative during Idol Season 8 that ultimately clinched the win for Kris. Lord help the 7-Layer Burrito lovers across the land.

Oh and a picture of Kris with the Chick-fil-a cows proves nothing except that he eats food there. Adam wasn’t more popular than Kris and Danny combined. He MIGHT have been more popular than Kris until Danny got out though. MIGHT. One state power-voting could not have made that much of an impact. Besides some of the cray cray Glamberts power-voted too.

Adam was never as popular as the sparkle cows wanted us to believe. Do they forget that Simon begged people to vote fore Adam? Why would he bother, if Adam had the lead?

Rickey Minor said that Kris was the ‘silent storm’ coming from behind. That was several weeks before any of the Glamtards imagined scandals. They didn’t seem to notice the Glamberts bragging about running multiple auto dialers for Adam. They didn’t mind the posting of the AT&T power texting tips at Adam’s fansites. I think it is spelled ‘hypocrisy’.

BTW; talking about a contestant all the time is something like this:

“My 3 yo son had a fever last night and it made me think how wonderful Adam is”
“My daughter who is a film studies student was watching a movie called Sure Fire last night with her friends and I realized that Adam’s effect on popular culture is way beyond what we can imagine”
“I hate it when people talk during the movies, last time I was at a theater enjoying 2012 there was a couple behind me that kept talking all the time”

So everything you say has to be related to your contestant.

I just saw this little gem at MJ’s for an example of ‘talking/thinking/obsessing’ about your idol all the time:

…about Adam being shallow and no substance… I don’t think so. He is a voracious reader. Ever try reading some of the books he loves? Try The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Very hard to get in to and the subject is very different.Thought I’d never get through it, but turned out enjoyable. And listening to the DonorsChose interview you can tell by his vocabulary he’s very smart. Who uses phrases like “mission statement” in their normal conversation? IMO

Ever try reading some of the books he loves??? Seriously? If you find yourself reading a book just because you think your favorite karaoke singer loves it… consult your fricking doctor. I swear it is not normal behavior. He/she will tell you.

I don’t think trying a book because he recommends it is too obsessive. On the other hand, not putting it down when you realize you don’t like it is quite another. I mean, I wouldn’t read a book Adam recommends, but when he posts a video to his twitter, I do watch it and see if I like it. I was a fan of Cassidy for a while because of Adam and I don’t necessarily consider that unhealthy.

Lauren, honey… I know you’re humoring me but: yes and no. It makes a lot of sense to follow a musician because your favorite musician likes him/her. That is yes. It makes a lot of sense because you trust their expertise on that subject. Also it makes a lot of sense to read the favorite books of your favorite author. Because that is her expertise and she must have a similar taste to you in literature if she is your favorite author. But it does not make a lot of sense to inquire about your favorite author’s favorite music and listen to that. So that is a no. Because there is no reason to think that you might share the same taste in music with her. That is not too creepy but a little bit irrational. Now if you only watch the movies she watches, listen to the music she listens, watch the TV programs she watches, buy the same brand of noodles she buys… that is totally creepy and irrational. 🙂

I do see your point. There is no reason for me to expect to have a similar taste in books as Adam does. Music, on the other hand, is different because he probably would suggest music similar to what he puts out and I have a good chance of liking. To me, it is just everything in moderation. Why not try to the book Adam recommends? Seems pretty normal. Reading only Adam approved books? Waaaaaay too obsessive.

Saskin, I disagree. I always love looking at the musical and literary interests of people I admire in whatever arena. Why not try to expand your horizons, and find new authors and musicians? There’s nothing crrepy about that at all unless you obsess over it because it’s something your “beloved” likes. If you like it too, then great. If not, like Lauren said, then discard it and move on.

I also don’t think that someone has an “expertise” in recommending an artist in their artform. The arts are subjective in nature, and all they can say is that they like that artist. Not that that artist is good. Truth is, very few musicians listen to much music in the genre they perform in. Punk artists tend to listen to reggae, jazz, or blues, rock to blues, bluegrass, and country, and all kinds of people prefer jazz on their playlist.

I find it hard to believe Adam loves Kavalier and Klay, actually. Did he say he read it, or that he loves it? It’s an amazing book, but not a difficult one to get into. Then again, these people don’t exactly read much. “Mission statement” lol.

Kerry, I will take you up on the offer.

1)When is your book coming out? Feb 19th was on the flyer. When will it be released?
      2) Is it written in legal, or layman’s terms? (will it be easy to follow for a non-lawyer?)
      3) How did you get all these facts when no-one else could?
      4) You have actual photographs of Chick-fil-A muckety-mucks handing thousands of $$$ to Kris? (not just pics of Kris posing with people in cow suits…cuz I’m pretty sure I could do that)
      5) Are you self-publishing?
      6) Will there be footnoted sources available in the back of your book? (and by sources I don’t mean pookieglam69 @ PF)

Kerry, I have NO idea why you are devoting so much time to this. I ran across your name quite by accident. (then it became familiar to me as I ran across it again, and again, and again etc……..) I hardly had to go looking for you because you comment in every article about Kris on the internet. I admit that I googled your name to find details about you after finding out about your book. TBH, it interested me. Not b/c I believe it, or that I wish to stalk you, or anything nefarious. It’s just that this is the most BATSHIT CRAZY sounding thing I’ve ever ran across in Idoldom. It’s just a karaoke TV show, for God’s sake. He came in second.Get over it already. (or not…”crazy” is pretty entertaining, I’m not gonna lie) Truly, if that’s the worst thing that ever befalls Mr Lambert in his life, then good for him.

If your book proves to me that Kris was in cahoots with Fox, AT&T, Chick-fil-A, the Southern Baptists, Tim Tebow, Houston Nutt, Mike Huckabee, and Kurt Schilling (or whoever the hell else is in on it), I will indeed write you a lengthy apology that you can post on your website, or use as the foreword in your next book, lol.

I think I’m pretty safe here.

I’m surprised that such a great book with in-depth research and irrefutable evidence about manipulative establishments like AT&T and Chick-fil-A haven’t attracted financial backers like Verizon or Wendy’s or their ilk. Wouldn’t they be interested in some powerful expose that could hurt their competition? I’m also surprised that with AT&T and Chick-fil-A’s extensive manipulative network that they haven’t tracked you down to keep your book from getting published. These are, as you said, powerful people who won’t stop at nothing to make sure the talentless hack Kris Allen wins a title that Adam Lambert deserves above the record deal that both of them wanted and both of them earned. Or was it Kris Allen who really is the powerful puppetmaster pulling the strings here while flying under the radar and getting overlooked by the media. OMG you’d better double-bolt your basement door, they could be coming for you right now!!!!!

Somewhere in cyberspace all human activity is tracked. At all times during Season 8 Adam was far more popular. In fact he was more popular than Danny and Kris combined so don’t buy the Kris got Danny’s vote bull.

I wonder how you’d explain Syesha Mercado, or any of the myriad of Idol contestants who’ve gotten farther than “internet popularity” would explain. Sorry, but the internet =/= the world. You really need to step back, and realize that there are a lot of people who just never use the internet for anything but email, or don’t use the internet at all, and yet they have phones, and use them. To vote for AI no less. Shocking, but true.

It’s TV show that ended almost a year ago, and both of them are doing fine. Adam even got a record contract and more than enough promotion to take over the world if he ever really could have. If he was so popular, why didn’t outsell Clay that first week? Or even Taylor Hicks?

You should send a copy to TI. Prove us wrong. Go ahead.

While I was digging up Kolsch Krap yesterday, I ran across a very specific theme in old comment threads from back in May (these are NOT from KMK btw). As they pertain somewhat to this thread (Kris/Cale coming up with stuff while driving around just goofing off) I thought I’d post some excerpts here. A little trip down BSC memory lane:

Firstly, please do James Taylor a favor and do not compare the weakest finalist in talent show history to him. As a huge James Taylor fan (and it was googling for a certain piece of information on him that I came across this article) I take that as an insult.

Kris does not even have the voice for the style that he tries to perform in. His voice is pure pop and he doesn’t have the charisma to get away with his vocal indistinctiveness.

    Secondly, get your facts right.

Like David Cook last year, Kris takes other people’s obscure arrangements, adds very little of himself to them and calls them his own.

Kris’ arrangement of Ain’t No Sunshine was actually by …….. yes, you guessed it ……….. Adam who worked it out for him while they were roommates at the AI house.

The arrangement of She Works Hard for the Money was the work of a couple of members of the show’s band because rhythmless Kris was stuck on disco week.

The arrangement of Heartless was based on The Fray’s version and an exact note for note, phrasing for phrasing copy of a version performed by someone else on television only weeks ago (go and Youtube “Heartless acoustic”).

Sorry but Kris is about as original as vanilla ice cream smeared on a magnolia painted wall.

Yeah, She was googling James Taylor, uh-huh.

Adam for the win. Kris is not the better artist. That “acoustic” arrangement of “she works hard for the money” that everyone was so gaga over was taken from Adam’s acoustic unplugged of Tracks of my Tears. I think that all Kris did was copy Adam. But that is my opinion. And no I will not buy Kris’ album, because he is a boring singer to me.

I even edited some of the BSC hyperbole out of this one:

Kris’ “Heartless” was not original, and the others are Santana knock-offs…please…IICHY was original and great, Ring of Fire may have been inspired by Dilana, but she can’t sing it the way Adam SANG IT…that is what made it original….Did you see how Kris struggled with the awful coronation song…..Kris damn near has seizure singing that song…Kris can only sing one way and it’s always the guitar or piano and same vocal range…..every song… I think you are seriously underestimating Adam’s music chops…he actually designs all his performances (not the producers) and writes his own music…..Uh, you should know, Kris admitted that Adam has helped him with his arrangements…so there!!!!!

Kris’ Heartless is “note for note” The Fray version except he is singing both lead and backup vocals — I think he did a nice arrangement of The Fray version. And it doesn’t sound anything like it because The Fray original is just better. BTW — where did Kris get the idea, Adam suggested this version to Kris.

Oh, and I’m really glad Kris and Cale had Youtube in the car:

all you have to do is look around on YouTube for a few minutes and you’ll find out where Kris gets his arrangements.

I wonder how Kris ever manages to get dressed in the morning without help, lol.

      HAHAHAHAHAHA You did?

Ms. Kolsch deserves a post all her own. I’m really curious about her theories that not only is Kris Allen completely unoriginal, all of his musical interpretations can be attributed to his association with Adam Lambert.

LOL…well actually, while she probably shares the sentiment, KK didn’t make these particular comments. These were just some of the stupid ones I came across on my digging expedition. I bet Adam helped Kris write all the songs on his album, even Red Guitar, and allowed Kris to take full credit for it. And Adam designed the album cover, helped Kris put a band together, got him all the Jingle Ball gigs and the South East Asian shows. Because Adam is a RAWK GOD and there’s nothing he can’t do and Kris has no chance in hell of surviving as a singer without the divine help of Adam Lambert!

Adam also wrote the ‘boring acoustic’ songs on BNS and arranged all of the cover songs that Kris performed at bars in the Little Rock area years before they even met. Adam taught him how to play the guitar, even though he doesn’t actually play, while he was living in San Diego and Kris was in Arkansas.

Adam also helped Marie Curie discover radium and Henry Ford invent the Model T, told Jimmy Carter how to get the Palestinians and the Israelis together and then humbly bowed out when Nobel Peace Prize time came around, pushed that namby pamby Nelson Mandela into opposing apartheid and then negotiated his release from prison, wrote Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony (Come on! The guy was deaf! Do you really think he could do it without Adam’s help??), stepped in when George Gershwin was struggling with “Rhapsody in Blue” and threw Ira a bone on lyrics for “S’Wonderful” and “Fascinating Rhythm,” sketched out what Michelangelo should put on the Sistine Chapel, held the kite for Ben Franklin, wrote “I Have a Dream” for Martin Luther King and the Gettysburg Address for Abe Lincoln, and personally saved six polar bears from melting ice, fourteen Haitians from the earthquake, twelve teen prostitutes from a life on the streets, and a whole passel of WeHo boys who had messed up their eyeliner.

It’s all true. You could look it up.

Kris performed that song beautifully. I expected his voice to sound a bit strained after the LONG few weeks he’s had but his voice was souring effortlessly. So much emotion behind it.
