Kradison, Stoli Vanilla and a Glambert on a Rascal Rocked My Town

February 14, 2010

On Friday night, I got wrecked at the Rock My Town show at the Highline Ballroom in Chelsea. I’ve been told I embraced my inner Kristard — in jest, of course.

Like so wrecked I lost my phone and acted like a total tard during Kris Allen’s set. This is what happens if you drink too much after not eating all day. I would love to regale you with some crazy, three-part recap, but that would require me remembering the last part of the night. (And no, I am not a drunk. I just never had breakfast, lunch or dinner.) Since I only had a few minutes to get to the show upon arriving in NYC, I booked a cheap hotel room because it was easier than coordinating my usual crashing-on-friend’s-sofas.

SHAMELESS PLUG:
The Jane Hotel and their $79/night rooms RULE. Even if the establishment has caused a bit of controversy around the neighborhood, the staff is super friendly and it allowed me to indulge in my Titanic/transatlantic steamship obsession I’ve had since age 11.

OMG IS THIS MY VERY FIRST TARD STORY? IT INVOLVED ZERO STREET TEAMING!

On the way to the venue, I asked this guy if I was going in the right direction, just to make sure. I was in a hurry. He said, sure, I’m walking that way, just come with me. Nice guy, lived in Boston while attending Harvard Business School. He asked me what show I was seeing. I said, you don’t want to know. He said, oh yeah I do. So I told him, and also explained I was covering it for my blog and had been invited by some of my MOST AWESOME READERS. His name is Patrick, btw.

Patrick: Hey, does this make me gay? I like Kris Allen.

Me: Oh no. He’s kind of my favorite. And I enjoyed his album. I like him more now since the show. Can I tell the girls I’m meeting you said this? Because they’ll be really excited.

Patrick: (Laughs) Sure. Yeah, I like the guy. I downloaded Live Like We’re Dying. It’s a good song. He just seems like your everyday kind of dude. Laid back. Kind of like John Mayer.

Me: Maybe because they both play guitars, but he’s not really a douche. I don’t think he’s called his penis David Duke or anything.

Patrick: Yeah, you’re right. But I like that guy. He’s just seems like a cool dude. Never liked Adam Lambert, and not because of anything else but I think he screeches.

So Patrick and I exchanged information because he wants to read my blog (need to email him after this) and I arrived at the show.

OMG THERE IS THE LINE OF WOMEN JUST AHEAD OF ME OUTSIDE A WESTERN BEEF

Upon arriving to the Western Beef Highline Ballroom on West 16th, I was struck by how many damn Glamberts were in attendance. I was also told the first ones showed up at 3:30am to wait in line. I could barely stand outside the 45 minutes I was queued. I thought I was going to die of hypothermia or at least lose a couple of toes to gang green.

On my way in, I ran into Gossip Candy! She’s easy to spot with her curly red hair! Super sweet gal. The Idol blogger stratosphere is just too funny, ain’t it? I mean, if all of us can get along, then why can’t the fans?

I obeyed the rules and did not bring my camera, as much as it pained me. I took photos with my camera phone, thankfully, I sent them to TwitPic so they still exist.

Some lovely, self-described Kristards in the NYC area invited me to this special shindig and I am still so gracious for giving me one of their tickets. None of them are what I think of when I think of Idol fans…but we were surrounded by a horde herd of those! It was clear we were in the minority, although I was actually wearing my fingerless, striped gloves, royal blue tights and black boots with rivets.

I thought I was going to lose my shit when a few of them busted out an ADAM LAMBERT CAPE and made a couple little girls (daughters and granddaughters, I assume) pose for photos with it.

As we all know, however, it can get worse. And it typically does. A circle of 10-15 Glamberts decided to create their own Kumbaya moment with a group sing of Whataya Want From Me. All that was missing were hand-held candles! There was a short, squat woman behind me with a black tooth. I think she could have hurt someone with her bare hands. Or a shank. I would also bet $50 she keeps a carton of Newports in her nightstand.

After much shivering, we were finally allowed into the venue. I’m not quite sure about all this talk about concertgoers being squashed and packed in like sardines. That’s bullshit. People crowded as close to the stage as humanly possible, but there was tons of open space on the actual floor. After standing out there for one minute upon entering, a couple of woman elbowed through where I was standing. Neither one of them turned around to offer an obligatory apology.

Claire was standing in line for coatcheck and I went to give her my coat, she was talking to a woman wearing a t-shirt reading GLAMBERT #3569 on the back. My mouth kind of dropped open a bit at this point, as no matter how many photos I see of this on the interweb, it always manages to throw me for a tiny loop in real life.

At this point, all I want is a drink. Hey, I only get out sporadically and come on! The Rock My Town show was reason to drink! I get a drink. No line at the bar. I stand with my group, get shoved by a Glambert, look around at the crowd. Oh, look! There’s Jim!

So I go and greet Jim who is standing with Yahoo! Music’s Lyndsey Parker. Lyndsey and I were introduced about a month ago via FB by a mutual friend in Los Angeles. So it was awesome to finally meet her in person. Lyndsey is AWESOME. I spent a lot of the show with her, including Lambert’s set which we watched from the side while downing Stoli Vanilla & Diet Cokes. Take that, evil Glamberts! I watched Adam’s set with Lyndsey. And if you’re wondering, I also cheered loudly! I clapped! I was into it!

Before Lambert played, it was Allison Iraheta aka La Princesa del Mariachi on stage. I think I yelled LA PRINCESA after her set. Lyndsey and I stood with Slezak and Jim for her set. And I just kept turning around to Slezak and saying, OMG THAT VOICE IS SICK. I really needed a shot of us tarding over La Princesa.

Allison can out-sing any teeny bopper making millions for Disney and really, if Taylor Swift was that good performing live? Because she’s not. But that reminds me…how awesome would it be to see Allison Iraheta duet with Stevie Nicks? SO AWESOME. Allison is just adorable, her self-effacing humor makes her entirely lovable and reminds us that she is young! She may sport a killer head of burgundy hair and a kick ass wardrobe, as well as a voice of a woman twice her age, you never ever get the impression she is trying to be someone she is not. She doesn’t need to tart herself up to be seen as “more adult”. She really only has to be…Allison. I really think this kid’s future is incredibly bright. My two favorites from her set? Definitely Robot Love and her sick, punked-up rendition of Killing Me Softly. Could she get in a studio and record that, like say, now??

And in between Allison and Adam’s set, YoBench got this awesome shot!

By the middle of Lambert’s set, the overall excitement of the evening and fact I had not eaten all day was starting to catch up with me. And I was drunk. And even though I consider it my biggest responsibility to document as many frightening acts of fantardary as possible, the evening became more about having fun and seeing a good show. This wasn’t as arduous of a task as say, catching a stop on the Idol tour.

And since drinking was a priority, I was lucky I stumbled into a Glambert on a Rascal when going for another round. Damn crappy camera phone. I really wanted the Rascal to figure more prominently into the shot.

From the angle Lyndsey and I were standing during Lambert’s set, we had a good view. We were on the side. I’m sad I missed the fainting ladies, but I think we ran down to the center after that. But I gotta say something, even though I was drunk enough to sing along to Music Again, a song I don’t even like…you see, I get drunk and sing…which you’ll see in a little big. Anyway, Adam Lambert needs to chill on the makeup. It was not good. Not good at all. I understand you may have to overcompensate when there are spotlights, but Jesus Christ. They don’t use this much makeup in Kabuki theater! It’s almost painful, really. He’s not an unattractive guy. But the makeup, yikes.

Oh, and him and his little friend Tommy. I got confused for a second because I was certain Tegan and Sara were playing Boston’s Orpheum Theater that night.

I rejoined my beautiful little group of Kristards for Kris Allen’s set. How nice! We have more room! Thank you, Glamberts, for leaving the building. Of course, it is just my luck that I was now really drunk. Luckily, there is video evidence of me really getting into the show.

To be honest, I can’t even bring myself to listen to it after hearing about my singing and tard-like proclamations. But hey, I consider myself a fan of Kris Allen, and since he was the only contestant to “take my advice” during Idol Movie Theme Night, you can understand I get a bit excited when he sings Glen H.

Kris Allen has come such a long way since I saw him play the Idol show back in August. Watching him live is almost like watching an entirely different performer. He’s more confident. He’s more comfortable. His voice seems to be getting stronger with each live performance. He has such a great synergy with his band. You totally get the “we’re a band” vibe from them, rather than we’re “we’re this guy’s band”.

Adam, Allison and Kris all have solid bands backing them, so I’m curious to see how they all grow as performers, and how they relate to their bands. In my honest opinion, I do feel Kris and Allison tend to bring their band members into their performances more than Lambert, offering more of collective effort. I can see Allison becoming a kick-ass frontwoman to a punk/pop-rock band. Lambert may grind on Little Tommy, but I feel like the focus must always be on him. Hey, the guy wants to be a solo superstar, so its not a knock against him, its just an observation on how different all of them are as musicians.

For the encore, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta joined Kris on stage for a pretty awesome Kradison take on Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy. What was even more enjoyable than the actual performance, was just watching how much fun the three of them were having up there on stage. Of course, upon re-watching this from the comfort of my living room sofa, something just occurred to me…

WHAT A PERFECT SONG.

Yes, Glamberts. Adam Lambert was totally singing TO YOU. Yes. Yes. He was. YOU’RE LOCO YOU’RE LOOOOOOOOOOCO.

Yup. Because you muthafuckas (hey, just quoting your master) are CRAAAAAAZY.

YOU’RE LOCO YOU’RE LOCO YOU’RE LOCO

Perhaps I am a slightly bigger Lambert fan now than I was when walking into the Highline. He just called his fans CRAZY! YOU’RE CRAZY YEAH YEAH YEAH And I am obviously sympathetic to a guy who gets hammered and loses his phone. Can we really blame him for being drunk? He was being groped by women with AARP subscriptions!

Oh, and btw. Kris Allen’s set didn’t make me believe in God. I like the kid, ok? And if you’re having fun at a concert, you have fun at a concert. And this was the first Idol-related show I’ve ever seen where I could actually get past a lot of the idiot tards and enjoy the show for what it was. I just went with it. And I had a great time.

But who am I kidding? It still totally helped I met a Glambert on a Rascal.

YOU’RE LOOOOOCO YEAH YEAH YEAHHHHHH

(Sorry. I’ll stop now.)

And I want to extend a special thanks to Claire, Laura, Meredith, Caroline, Elle and Whitney for allowing me to join them on such a kick ass excursion, and not wearing any puffy paint tard apparel. Of course, I really don’t think that’s how they roll. And they can call me drunkface forever. I accept this fate.

It is obvious that some Kris fan posted this not Kerry. It does violate Federal Law to do this.

“I am a kook and want to cry and whine about Kris Allen winning American Idol over Idol’s ROCK GOD. My world is collapsing because Adam lost. What a world, what a world. Arkansas voted a 300 billion times and AT&T made a secret arrangement with space aliens to get Kris to win. The fix was in. Adam is going to sell more music than any one on planet earth. Adam in the reincarnation of Elvis. When I saw Adam perform Mad World I had an orgasm. I am leaving my husband to follow Adam around and I will try to seduce him. Adam is not gay. That is filthy lie by the Arkansas mafia.”

This kind of stuff makes us look bad. We need to stop and think and come up with a plan if every thing Kerry says is true.

pffft. A plan? Why should blog commenters devise a plan? If he did it, he did it. I’m 99.99999999999999999999999% sure he didn’t though.

Bwahahaha, Kerry…err, I mean Virginia, so is this a brief synopsis of everything that is in your book? Thanks for the cliff notes version! “Violates federal law”, just so happened to find a tweet from July’09, huh?, hamburger tax money??? wtf?, Chick-fil-a food!!! Computers blocking Adam’s votes? wtf?? Boy, those Arkansas people sure are smart!!
So you wrote a book based off of blogs, message board comments, and tweets. Still trying to make a living off of the internet, huh? Maybe you need to go out and get a real job, you know, get a life, cause hanging round the internet 24/7 is making you craaaaazy!

I do not have a problem with a state trying to get their own to win but when I went to the internet Arkansas has left a trail that makes us look bad. Why did they leave up the information about the hamburger tax money going to Kris or the fact they sold thousands of shirts for the trips for Kris’ family to LA.? That Jeremy Baker from Fox 16 was on air and voted 1,000 times in a few minutes. It makes us look like we cheated. Adam’s fans could have done the same thing but they have us on the internet with pictures.

What are you even talking about? What hamburger tax $ ? A state can’t give tax $ to an individual.

Is selling tard shirts wrong? People have fundraisers for others’ expenses all the time.

OK, Virginia/Kerry…the hamburger tax money was not given to Kris. Funds derived from the hamburger tax were available to Conway’s Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber used said funds to pay for the parade in downtown Conway!

The Kick Awesome Task Force and the chamber hosted the parade and concert, using Conway Advertising, Marketing and Promotion funds derived from the so-called local “hamburger” tax.

Geeze….you better have more than that. That took approx 30 secs to refute.
Hope you didn’t spend your life savings publishing this sucker….can you say lawsuit?

    I found this on Twitter:

@ORYGUN_GURL Chick-fil-a was a sponsor at all of @krisallen4real ‘s watch parties & even gave us free food. The place in Conway loves Kris! 2:43 PM Jul 18th, 2009

How can we get this off the internet? It looks bad for Kris.

I love you guys. I am from Arkansas but live in Ashville now. I come from an old Arkansas family. My uncle has built wings to universities. My problem is this. I went to a Kris Allen Watch Party and I know that AT&T was there with charging stations and texting stations. They were giving out phones and Chick fil a was giving out free food. I also saw them with computers and everyone said that they were blocking Adam’s votes. I know that AT&T had big orange signs. What if that women Kerry can prove any of this? Then it will not be libel or slander will it?

If more than 3 people purchase KK’s book, I will be surprised. As what pointed out earlier, Chick-fil-a never misses an opportunity to give away free food. Arkansas (no offense) is the type of state that would rally around an Idol contestant and thus Kris got the watch parties when Adam didn’t because California could care less.
      Don’t sweat it, Virginia.

Top Idol, friend. More fact check for you. Regarding your concern about the bands congealing. And your concern that within Adam’s band the focus may remain on him. Yes it will remain on him.

These are not “bands” as in Daughtry (sp, sorry I dont follow).

They are individual musicians paid as such as backing to a vocalist. They are promoting the record for RCA with songs made pre “band” that had nothing to do with them and had alot of say, synth bass as in Strut – is all synth bass (more on this later).

Lisa Harriton, formerly of Smashing Pumpkins, Adam’s keyboardist, was pulled for Kesha tour. She is currently writing her “own” music and pimping her own site because she is a classic jazz musician and this is just a job for her.

Zack, famously from Korn was subbing for her and now is off to do more Korn concerts for awhile.

Monte was not at the last Ellen birthday TV show when they played Strut, because it was during the Haiti thing and he was in NYC playing for Madonna Haiti taping when Adam was taping the TV thing so Tommy played Monte’s guitar part and Zack did the bass on synth.

Monte is only committed for Adam until spring whereas he wants to start his solo record’s promotion even though he and Adam are BFF for years. He said he asked another musician who the best singer in LA was years ago, was told Adam Lambert and that’s how their band The Citizen Vein started.

Longineau is working on his solo CD although he’s tweeted he wants to be IN for the long haul as have Monte and Tommy.

Everyone wants solos from “the band” but the songs are not conducive to it until down the road further…except for Monte who does the solos when they exist. And LP does one when they do WLL live as you saw in both cases if you were still sober lol.

This is entirely too much tarding, however, when you over analyze the situation to the Nth degree incorrectly you probably should know the reality.

The same thing goes for the other 2 “bands”. Until the records are finished being promoted and these three “bands” decide they are A BAND and not individual backing musicians to vocalists, the focus will always be on the vocalists.

As LP introduced himself on his shoutout to Gossip Candy on tape “Hi I’m Longineau Parsons of Adam Lambert”.

Adam Lambert interviewed to Cantiello with Alli and KA that they do the casino and other small gigs to earn money to pay the musicians and back up staff. KA and Alli were shaking their heads when he said that.

Also, Adam is more of a showperson versus KA and Alli (who needs to stop the random wandering around with her back to the camera LOL) and you are seeing THAT. The show belongs to him, like it or not, not “the band” albeit everyone loves the hell outta the band and as many solos and Tommy fan service as possible is encouraged. Most likely RCA has some input to this strategy as well.

No offense, but I feel like you kinda just agreed with TI.

“Lambert may grind on Little Tommy, but I feel like the focus must always be on him. Hey, the guy wants to be a solo superstar, so its not a knock against him, its just an observation on how different all of them are as musicians.”

You both say the focus is on him and its not a bad thing.

      deez,

I find this stuff very interesting.

Did you ever see the movie “Quiz Show,” it was about corrupt game show practices in the 1950s. The protagonist’s quest for success, fame etc.. led him to the belief that if he uncovered this corruption, thus bringing down the Television and advertising industries, he could make a name for himself. But it backfired and instead of bringing down the power brokers, he inadvertently brought down the dupes.

Kerry Kolsch and her book remind me of that story. My point is that if there is any validity, which I am sure there is not, however, if corruption of some sort were exposed I think it would tarnish Adam Lambert and Kris Allen equally and American Idol and whatever corporate identity involved would get off unblemished. I don’t know what she hopes to gain from this exposé, but I think she is acting irrationally and selfishly. If this does open a can of worms I hope she is willing to accept the conciquenses of her actions.

If she had actual proof to her “bombshell” allegations, she wouldn’t be self publishing. Or hawking the piece of shit on fliers.

She’s as bad as a whacko conspiracy theorist babbling about the government. In fact, that’s just what she is.

Sour, she’s a nut. I don’t know that she hopes to gain anything (ie.. exposing corporate corruption) she just wants to be right. Google her name sometime (if you haven’t already), She’s been leaving multiple comments everywhere for ages. (not just about AI)

It’s ironic b/c she’s writing this stupid book, with vague circumstantial crap…and putting it forth as fact. In one of her comments she threatened to bring the law down on another poster who had the same first name as her! (stalking, lol) I don’t know that AI, Fox, AT&T, Chick-fil-A or whoever else was “implicated” would think it worth their time to call her on it, but I wish they would. The result would make for some great entertainment.

Unless there’s something she hasn’t already spilled, (and really, how does a non-lawler-fee paying tard from Miami get insider info?) her big “reveal” is that Kris tweeted (4 times from what I found) about liking Chick fil A in return for their help in bad-mouthing Adam, along with Fox news. AT&T apparently sponsored free-phone parties in Ark, but from what I can tell it was ONLY the one local ATT store in Conway that provided demo phones (supposedly 50) to use for people who did not have a texting plan.

She also made some claim about Kris profiting from the show or something, b/c some people in Conway sold tard shirts to help pay expenses for Kris’ family to fly back and forth to LA. If that’s all she’s got, I don’t know how she managed to fill up a book. (from the pic on her site, it looks to be around 200-250 pages).

But of course, maybe this is one of her internet scams: http://www.worknotwanted.com/

In Kerry Kolsch news, she is MARRIED *gasp* (I can’t imagine, unless he’s embalmed and sitting in a chair in the basement):

Ann, I totally disagree with you. Adam owned the stage as he does every time he performs. There was not contest between him and the other guys last night or any night. My husband, who is a university professor, has an instruction that he gives his speech class every semester, it applies to you, “if you can’t be good, be brief”. There should be a carbon tax on your waste of hot air.

Kerry Kolsch said…@ LeMarie Do you know what “slander” is? A defense for slander is that if it is the truth you can say anything. I graduated law school so I would not slander anyone. As far as what you say you are wrong. I am not talking about power texting which was on everyones fan site. I am talking about the use of Kris’ name and likeness for his benefit that is not allowed by Idol. Do you remember Danny and Lenscrafters when people thought he was getting endorsements which proved to be untrue? Well Kris was getting funds and favors from entities. Adam did not sell shirts with his name on them to pay his parents travel expense. Adam did not have AT&T sponsoring vote parties for him. Adam did not have AT&T give out free phones to his fans and Adam did not have corporate entities benefiting from the use of his name in exchange for favors. You do not know the facts so you can not judge me. I waited for the media to tell this story and they failed to do so. I have no choice but to tell it myself. The problem with people like you is that you do not want to admit the truth about Adam being more talented and having more fans; it is you who is childish. You will not admit that your little country boy did anything wrong.

I WISH I could take credit for this, but I can’t, LOL:

Nolan Richardson stole that ’94 championship….Duke was the WAY better team. DUKE was better than Wooden’s UCLA teams or anything that KENTUCKY ever put on the floor, and don’t even get me started on DEAN SMITH!!!! Duke was the BASKETBALL GAWD! Theteam that won only prevailed b/c they sent free chick-fil-a to the refs!!!!!! My cousin’s uncle’s best friend’s cleaning woman swept up the hospitality room after that game and she SAW THE WRAPPERS!!!! And don’t even try to tell me that Houston Nutt doesn’t have a deal with AT&T!!!!

Absolutely…Nutt was getting free texting from AT&T already for the purpose of eventually voting for Chris Allon, the future “Arkansas Idol”; too bad he also used them to text that hot little Little Rock news reporter. That mistake would not go without punishment by the Walmart/AT&T/Chick-Fil-A cabal; he was forced to quit and take a job at Ole Miss!

Kerry needs a refresher course. a) Slander is spoken, so she is actually talking about libel if she is defending her internet postings or her “book.” b) Even if her statements are all true (about which I have serious doubt), there are privacy torts kind of overlapping defamation, so “false light” might be a good one for 19 and Kris’s lawlers to look into. Learn the law, live the law, love the law, Miss Kerry K! Too bad Kerry’s Kerfuffle is probably too minor for anybody at 19, AT&T or Chik-Fil-A to mess with (plus it would probably give her and her idiotic ideas much more prominence if they did attempt to put her down), because they might also be able to pursue a claim that she is in tortious interference with their business… Wooo hoooo! I’m not saying who would win or even if a court would dismiss right from the get-go, but anybody can file for anything, 19, AT&T and Chik-Fil-A have much deeper pockets than Miss Kerry K, and they could tie her up in litigation and motions and expensive legal fees for a good long time if they wanted to.

I still have no idea how Chik-fil-a came into the equation. Is it because it is a Christian-run company? I’ve never heard of Kris Allen/Chris Allon talking about Chil-fucking-fil-a.

Probably because I’m a tard, probably because on some holidays it’s my only dining option on campus, but yes, Kris has mentioned several times (usually when asked what his favorite fast food/guilty pleasure/junk food is) that he LOOOVES Chick-Fil-A. My sister once asked what was so great about it; did they put crack in it or something?

I might actually believe Kerry Kolsch is married to a professor, except for the anti-Hillary Conservative nonsense. Academia has a definite liberal bias when it comes to those things. I want to hear more about her interests outside Idol. This looks like you hit a deep well of crazy.

I feel for Kris’ Sonic craving. 😦 Apparently I need to search harder for the Wendy’s. I only found Church’s because I was driving through the ‘hood. I miss decent, cheap fast food. In n’ Out is about it here, and that’s only burgers…

I’m a little perplexed by this. I cannot imagine anyone who even dropped out of law school after one semester making that obvious mistake. Could she possibly be using someone else’s identity? She seems about as real and about as sane as “sweetsexysean” and “his” “pals” Xena and Juneau.

Judging from all the sniping that went on, this show was a bad idea that just got worst. Each of them needs to move on and focus on their solo careers. I hope this is truly the last time these 3 perform together. It is not worth it. Brings up all the ugliness, the hate, the ongoing comparisons of who is better, who is more popular. Season 8 his donezo.

    Mitchel:
    02/16/2010 at 8:31 pm
And the fallout, negativity from the NY concert continues. I see that in Michael Sleazak’s review on Entertainment Weekly, there are over 1,000 comments. Unfortunately, almost all of it is very negative, the fan wars escalating, attacking each other. Adam, Kris and Allison are not joined by the hip. People in the real world (record buying public) could care less about these them performing together.

Half of the negative comments were probably written by Neil/Mitchell or any other of their clones.

I kinda want to invent Schleneill and Schlemitchel, and post the exact same thing, only inserting positive comments/words in the appropriate places. It would certainly result in my next modding.

Maybe it involves crowd surfing and crotch grabbing/pelvic thrusting and crotch grabbing. Like Jim says, “Hey, both of you have recently experienced up close and personal encounters with fans and your naughty bits. What was that like?”

And Kris says, “It was kinda icky but I didn’t let them get that close,” and Adam shouts, “IT WAS FABULOUS, BABY! A SHOW ISN’T A SHOW WITHOUT A HANDJOB FROM A SPARKLE COW!” which makes Kris and Allison laugh. But Jim could feel that the mention of Kris and his crowd surfing/molestation alone would make Mama Allen uncomf.

I don’t know. The only thing I ever had to go shhhhhh to friends about in front of my mother was that my apartment had been robbed. My mom was a worrier.

So apparently it’s Anal Sunshine that made Jim think the interview was NSFM. (Not Safe For Mom.)

I think, anyway. He did ask Kris about the groping in Asia, and Kris said it was (I think) “weird.” But otherwise not controversial.

Nah, I think it was “Anal Sunshine,” which was actually on a sign somewhere on the Asian trip, along with “I’m a little punk stealing your gay.” Sigh. Sometimes people are so dopey and icky.

I LOVE the misheard lyrics. They all relate back to Kradam. “Anal sunshine WHEN SHE’S GONE!” Though I would never put them on a sign or mention it to Kris’s face. That’s not cool.

A friend of mine had a sign with I’m A Little Punk Stealin’ Your Gay at the KL show. She is 18 and looks 11, and she got Cale to sign it. I wouldn’t do it myself, but I thought it was pretty funny.

Late on commenting. Just back from Ogunquit,ME over the long weekend.
I gotta say it sounds like fun times! I’m a diet coke/pepsi addict, but not sure about the stoli vanilla. My husband was a bartender when he was younger and thought it might taste like cream soda. I was a fan of Amaretto, as well as, Peppermint Schnapps, so sweet is good. Snake Bites are good, too. Kristard or not, I’d be having a blast — who doesn’t love to dance, drink and just enjoy good music?

I did read a few tweets about the night and there was one woman that said she punched another woman in the face and I guess her earlobe was ribbed. (It seems she was an adam fan.) Did you see many brawls? Nothing like watching old women beating the crap out of each other ala Jerry Springer.

At this point, the glamberts dissing of Kris is meaningless. No one cares. The media is on to other things and they just look like a bunch of overinvested idiots. Adam’s career is now in his hands and their OTT machinations only serve to make him and them look ridiculous. I’ve read that a lot of glamberts aren’t happy with Michael S. and Jim C. for pointing out how they left the show before Kris came on to perform — that it wasn’t all Glamberts. Well, I tend to believe Mike S. and Jim, sorry. If they saw it with their own eyes and wrote about it, then I believe it happened. And what’s with all the fainting? Ill health, I’ll accept, but fainting over Adam, give me a break.

Looks like you had a great time — good music and good people to hang with.

I didn’t get a chance to go to this show, although I would have loved to. But the reviews I’ve read other places give ALL THREE amazing reviews.

I think people get what they give out. You metaphorically elbowed people you don’t know all through your article. So it makes perfect sense to me that you would get that same treatment in real life.

Ummm- again, I have to wonder what the hell is wrong with people?

Is this your blog? Are you forced to come here and read anything? The answer to both is CLEARLY no.

TI gave her review, she said what she thought about the performaces. While you are entitled to your own view, I seriously question why you, and people like you, insist that her review needs to be what YOU want it to be.

I also seriously question if you actually read the damn post properly. TI specifically stated that she loved Adam’s set and was SINGING ALONG. Her only criticism was in relation to the horrible makeup- which even some of his diehard fans couldn’t help but agree with.

Hell, she gave the gave bonus points for “She thinks your Loco” bit!

Her observations on performance style were just that, observations. Not a jab at the performers.

Her views on the people she encountered are totally in keeping with what she does everyday. Point out the batshit craziness of many of these Idol fans.
Now, in relation to the rascal element. You may be new here, or, you just might be a complete moron (which is doubtful considering you appear to be able to string together complete thoughts in a clear and concise fashion) but, TI was not aiming to mock the woman’s situation of being “rascal bound” so your passive aggressive “I HOPE one day you aren’t in a little rascal” really lacks any kind of actual meaning. In short sweetheart, it was a fail.

Really, we are about humour, snark and general good times here (aside from the moments of horror that develop as a result of some of the original material). You may question this based on the tone of my response to your posts. I will admit that this ain’t one of those “good times” responses but, again, it arises due to “original material” that has been provided.

I do acknowledge that our brand of humour and fun may be hard for some to swallow but, we really aren’t all that bad.

I genuinely hope that your future at this site gets brighter and better. This is, in fact, sincere.

          That is all.

        • Lauren permalink
          February 15, 2010 12:01 pm

Why is TI required to give “complete positive reviews?” Isn’t the point of a review that she says how she felt about the concert and what she liked/ didn’t like? I mean, I obviously HOPE that she gives Adam a positive review, but its all up to how well she thought he did. As her criticism of Adam was not in anyway offensive, she shouldn’t be yelled at or judged for it.

Well that’s silly. The point of reviews is to say what you think (preferably in a witty, acerbic, funny, or otherwise entertaining way). How boring would reviews be if they were all completely positive? That would take away from truly great performances, I think, because then you can’t differentiate them from the mediocre or merely good ones if they all just get completely positive reviews.

It is none of my business but if I may; as I said English is my third language. My first and second are my mother’s and father’s languages. They are from two different countries that both used to join (they still do, I think) a European song contest called Eurovision which I am pretty certain was invented to mark the cheesiest point in human civilization. The contest used to go like this: each country would send a singer to represent her, after all groups sang their songs live, local public juries from each country would grant points from 0 to 12 to all contestants. The song that got the most points would win. Now the problem was, the judging was almost always biased. The countries with similar cultures, languages etc would grant each other the highest marks and certain countries with a historic animosity towards each other would never grant any points to the other. So the whole thing was very polarized.

Before the contest, everyone would be make fun of the contest (because it is soooo deliciously awful) but by the end those exact same people would be very into it. Now my mom’s country and my dad’s country never ever ever gave each other any marks at all. So, no matter where I was living at the time, I would always get the blame after the contest: “your people hate our people”.

This whole AI thing reminds me of that. I used to tell them: “They did not give you any points? Big deal. They did not bomb you either. It is all fun and games.”

So dear Wha, TI did not give your guy a glowing review. Big deal. She did not kick your dog either. It is all fun and games. Of course, unless you are the one on the ‘little Rascal’. But if you are; I think you should just say it.

BTW, what the heck is ‘a little Rascal”?

          Lordi! Lordi! Lordi!

Because my husband is into all things Scandinavian, we try to find Eurovision video on the net every year. He likes to watch the Swedish program about Eurovision to practice his Swedish. But Lordi, the Finnish group that won a few years ago, is a perfect example to me of how silly the contest is. I’m still not convinced they weren’t a put-on. Still, their fans take them seriously and love them to death, so whaddya gonna do?

I am wondering if the people who are telling us they love Adam and are getting all yelly about this site (and this recap) and it’s not nice or it’s too mean and blahblahblahPollyannacakes are saying anything at, say, Planet Fierce, about Kerry Kolsch and her defamatory “book” or in the comments section at EW, about how all the negativity toward anyone who isn’t Adam or doesn’t like Adam fans isn’t nice and puts negative karma out there in the world? Is this a one-way street (or high road) where only people who aren’t Adam fans are expected to be perfect and charming and rise above, while Adam fans are allowed to sling whatever mud they want because… Well, I don’t know why that should be a good thing. It’s like being in kindergarten and the teacher telling you it’s okay for Little Bobby to be a bully and give everybody on the playground bloody noses and steal everybody’s lunch money and keep pooping on your desk, but YOU have to play nice. And clean up Little Bobby’s poop and pay for everybody else’s lunch while you’re at it. That’s what you get for daring to live your life as someone who is not Little Bobby.

My feeling is, that if Adam fans of any stripe — Glambert, Lambskank, whatever — I don’t pretend to keep up with their nomenclature — are going to keep up with the Chick-Fil-A/WalMart/AT&T conspiracy nonsense or going around the internet screeching homophobia or trying to bring down the other Idols any time someone doesn’t like Adam AND their fellow Adam fans encourage and enable that behavior, I think I have the right to point out hypocrisy and generally loathsome behavior. We’ve all seen the postings by these people. So are these supposed sane and responsible Adam fans who are so offended by the negativity here taking Q3 and Tess and hwc and Kerry Kolsch to task for being assholes at Planet Fierce or wherever else they roam? Yeah, I don’t think so.

Oddly enough, I’ve seen this behavior before, and not in sports. It was in the soap opera fandom, with rivalries among fans of the same actor or actress who liked one pairing of that actor’s character better than another. I know it seems ridiculous (especially now that the soaps are hurting for viewers of any kind, even crazies) but people actually tried to get certain actresses fired because they’d been paired with their favorite guy and they wanted him with somebody else. So there were the same ravings and rantings all over the internet, the same protestation that one fanbase was the nice or polite one and one was rude and horrible, the same attempts to ruin people’s careers, the same bizarre outfits and pornographic fan fic and sparkly banners and ridiculous mail campaigns and people trying to grab or kiss or grope or break into the hotel room of the objects of their affection.

Maybe American Idol and Eurovision and the soaps and Buffy and Star Trek and some other specific types of entertainment attract (or attracted) a certain element that needs the excitement and self-affirmation of over-investment in people they don’t know? It’s an interesting psychological phenomenon, if nothing else.

Every blog has a purpose wha?. TI is a place to mock ott fans. We all rag on the crazies, and by we, I mean, all the Adam, Kris and Allison fans that hang out here.

I’m really happy that we are nothing like GC’s forum. I’ve never seen such batshit comments as the one’s on the Kradam thread in the forum. In fact, I used to spend time there and stopped b/c I couldn’t take the really nasty comments about Drake and Katy and the cray cray tinhatting.

Point is, GC serves an audience seeking a particular environment to discuss Kradam. TI serves an audience looking to let their hair loose and make fun of the craziness we encounter in a fandom we belong to.

If you would actually read the article you would see that TI complimented the performers. Mocking the OTT tards is just part of our ‘culture’ therefore that also went into the review. If you want a review that just focuses on the performers, then you’re in the wrong place.

I assure you that a lot of the Katy/ boy Adam is with hate there, is in jest. You know I’m pretty normal and I can’t count the times I have referred to Katy as “A cockblocking b*tch”. The comments against Drake was what bugged me the most and drove me away. I felt he was getting reamed from both sides, the tinhatters and the glamberts. He was also getting reamed by Adam but at least that was fun.

    From the phone again…

From all the recaps and videos it looks like it was an awesome show! So glad you got to go. Those are some kick awesome benches for inviting you!

FWIW, I’m a big believer that alcohol/ drugs don’t change you, but bring out parts of you you didn’t know were there. Just sayin’ 😉

The vids make me certain I need to see Allison and Kris live. Both looked amazing. Adam looked great too, but I’m still not enthused by his behavior. I’m sorry, but those ladies wouldn’t have had anything to grope if he hadn’t stood there and let them. I don’t believe he felt obligated either, so yeah, he asked for it. At this point he’s fanning the BSC flames, and reaps what he sows. If he wants to be another Peaches, then fine, but Peaches doesn’t have his fans.

Tegan and Sara! I really need to see them too.

Don, I’m actually glad you posted your thoughts. I agree in some ways, but not others. Regardless, it’s an opinion I’m happy to see voiced from someone without an obvious agenda. For me, the issue isn’t age – heck, I prefer and older crowd at most gigs – it’s the complete lack of self awareness these people exhibit. It’s almost bpathological. Someone should call them out on their behavior. Hopefully, eventually, something will get through. If nothing else, to Adam.

I’m also not really sympathetic to his drunken revelry post show. I’ve worked with music acts before, and the golden rule of maintaining a career is stay clean. This is your job. If he had the next day off, and went out and partied and lost his phone, so be it.(I am sympathetic about the phone.) But instead he had the equivalent of a “big meeting” the next day, and he flubbed a few things by all accounts. As someone who has watched new and regional acts struggle and work hard for their success, it pains me that someone handed such a golden opportunity shits on it like that. His handlers can only do so much. Adam really, really needs to grow up, or the only person to blame for what will surely be a tanking career will be him. (And since I need to specify because it relates to Adam, I mean that any artist who doesn’t stay clean ends up with a career in trouble. Anyone. And he’s no Amy Winehouse or Axl Rose who is so beloved for their talent that they get huge passes for their behavior. Both still have little to no career at the moment.)

Sorry, that was a personal rant, and one I wouldn’t make if I didn’t care about the people involved. The whole thing hit me somewhere that matters, and I needed to get it off my chest. I’ve seen great musicians lose their chance over stupid things like that.

And well to be honest, a 20 year old doesn’t look nearly as ridiculous in black fingerless gloves, spiky hair and sparkly make up as a 60 year old does. How far do you think he will have to go before RCA and his management throw their hands up? It seems like so far there are zero consequences to his actions.

The Glamberts are just painting it with the “he’s a RAWKstar, of course he gets wasted, of course he screws up tapings, he’s earned all of that!”

I don’t care that he gets wasted. Big deal. I find fans being shocked that these people drink and use drugs hilarious and shows how naive they are.

As for how long RCA and 19 will put up with him, hard to say as they are sinking so much cash into him. He’s very much like Jorbacca, without the pop urban contemporary products that can be sold to the average boring music buyer as singles. He also cannot be marketed as an opening act because, as it was pointed out in the other thread, they know damn well what his fans are like and no artist would want his fans at their shows. So he’s got to do solo stuff, and that doesn’t look like it’s working out too well. Casino still isn’t sold out, right? The NYC gig was free, and the taping was basically a cast commercial with an audience of 40. Both their clocks are ticking, but his is ticking faster.

Of course, big deal if he gets trashed. But for someone who is trying to earn his stripes, he should take his commitments (like the VH1 taping) seriously. Getting so wasted that he can’t remember his own fricking songs was not the right thing to do in that situation.

He hasn’t earned the right to f*ck things like that up yet.

Omg, he messed up some lyrics on ONE Song and knocked over and spilled his tea. How unprofessional … just not. Its human 😉

By the way, for this kind of taping it´s normal that more than one take is done for a song. Simply because the director wants to get the perfect take. That means perfect Perfomance, light, acoustic, audience reaction etc.

Other than that it seems like his VH1 session went great. According to the Recaps, he entertained his audience with great singing and fun banter between the songs. What more could you want? I hope it airs soon.

On Topic – from the Youtube videos it seems like Kradison did great. I am happy for all the lucky people who could be there. Thanks for the Recap.

Ah but see, of course he hasn’t “earned” anything. He’s not a rock star but he plays one on TV. That’s part of the role. Another part of the role is to play up the worship and power trip by driving his maenads into a frenzy. It’s just a little unfortunate that central casting isn’t involved in all the live events.

First, Mithra, it is a big deal. Most artists can’t handle it. For every Robert Downey jr, there are dozens of Lindsey Lohans. It’s one thing to work hard, make it, and then fall off the deep end because of the pressure (Amy Winehouse). It’s another to mess around when you’re on your way up, and need to be on your game. A lot more acts than you realize are or were mostly clean and sober on the way up. They knew when to let it all hang out, and when not to. They over indulge when they get to the top.

He didn’t spill a drink and mess up one line. Yes, they do multiple takes, but they expect multiple takes of the complete song so they can choose which interpretation they prefer. I guarantee the director and crew were not happy about him forgetting the lyrics to his song, and having to do 6 takes of another. Not cool. He needs to make good impressions with these people. These are the people who will talk him up within the industry, tell their friends to hire him for their kid’s multi-million dollar birthday party, and that sort of thing…

Okay, I sound like a “concern troll,” but unlike Q3 and Tess, I’m not talking out of my ass. Like I said, I’ve seen this before, and I’ve never seen it end up okay in the end. Unless they clean up their act.

That would certainly help build his credibility as a musician and not just some pretty face singing karaoke. And LOL at all the fainting Glamberts. 25. February 15, 2010 2:32 am

Pet peeve time. I am getting really annoyed by the fans who pull the “(insert favorite idol name here) would be upset with the nasty things their fans are saying to and about (insert other favorite idol name here)’s fans. They are such good friends and I know they love each other and all of their fans”.

News flash! If you think that Adam, Kris, Cook etc do not sit around with their friends and band mates making fun of their OTT fans you are delusional. If I had to guess I’d say that all of them have said much worse things about the BSC fans than I have seen written here and on VFTW. I’m sure they love having fans and appreciate the enthusiastic support that they get. But I am also sure that they are freaked out by women old enough to be their mothers that all of a sudden love NIN because Cook does or wear leather and sparkles because Adam does.

If you have children born in the same decade as any of these idols, please refrain from groping them or making signs with glitter and sexual innuendo. Your idol may smile and say the politically correct thing to your face. But that’s not what they are thinking. This is not the 60s and your idol is not Jim Morrison. Just because you think “OMG he’s a raaawk god”, does not make it appropriate for you to grab their junk.

TopIdol can you delete this for me. I just got upset and took J comment to heart because of the negative comments about me saying that Kris and Adam would not like the fans making vile remarks about the other. I re read what I wrote and though I the sentiment and my thoughts I don’t disagree with I don’t like the tone on how I wrote it. Please delete for me.

J though I don’t like your post I also should have responded differently then I did and came at it from a different viewpoint.

    • February 15, 2010 3:41 am

I said pet peeve. I didn’t say serious concern. Health care reform, people dying and the like are things to get serious about. I also didn’t say that fans shouldn’t enjoy themselves at shows, make signs, cheer on their idols or show support in fun and harmless ways.

What I said was that it’s inappropriate for a woman old enough to be their mother to grope them or make sexual comments towards them in a public way like signs. I never said that there is anything wrong with thinking a younger guy is sexy or even fantasizing about them if that’s what floats your boat. I’m in the old but not dead age group myself.

The reason these things are a pet peeve of mine is that they are not harmless. They do hurt people. Think about it for a minute. If a perfect stranger ran up to you and grabbed you in a sexual way, would you be hurt or sickened by it or would you like it? I would be hurt if someone did that to me. And that would apply to anyone of any age, not just older people. But I like to think that older fans would have the maturity to understand that sexual harassment is not harmless. That’s not a knock on the younger fans here since you all seem to be handling the whole fan thing with grace and maturity.

So please I’m asking you to reread what I wrote. If you are treating your favorite idol with respect and supporting them in an enthusiastic, fun way then it doesn’t apply to you. My rant was meant for the people who treat them like a piece of meat with no regard for how their actions might offend the idol or the other fans at the shows.

      • Don permalink
        February 15, 2010 4:04 am

J I did reread you post and I will say I agree that there is no excuse for the grabbing of his crotch at any age or any gender. I misread the part about the signs. You meant any sexually implied remarks. I thought you were you meant signs that say We love you Adam or Adam Lambert is my Idol sort of stuff. I guess so many people were commenting on the Cape as if that had sexually charged writing on it I didn’t clearly see what you were writing.

I still stand by my think about people Kris are Adam not being so thrilled that fans are spewing vile remarks about the other. I don’t know I know that if anyone made rotten comments about my friends I would be pissed regardless who it was, and I am talking the vile crap not “he doesn’t sing he screams, or he is boring” I mean stuff I can’t ever re-post here.

Umm- you really don’t have to because she never actually said that it was “Glamberts” or wateva doing all the shoving and elbowing.

“After standing out there for one minute upon entering, a couple of woman elbowed through where I was standing. Neither one of them turned around to offer an obligatory apology” Was this attributed to any specific person or group? Nah.

TI mentioned one instance where “a Glambert” shoved her:

“I stand with my group, get shoved by a Glambert, look around at the crowd”

TI was probably able to identify said “Glambert” based on standard Glamtard gear.

A college football blogger named Clay Travis once wrote something about football fans that I think equally applies to Idol fandom. “No matter what fan base you’re a part of, at least 15 percent of your fans suck. Really suck.” It was in response to all of us who paint fandoms with a broad brush; I know I’ve said on certain game days “all LSU fans are inbred cajun assholes” or “all Mississippi State fans are rednecks with inferiority complexes,” but in reality those are just the most vocal and the ones who get the most attention. Most LSU and MSU fans are decent, normal folks. I have tons of friends who like Adam Lambert that don’t wear leather and black nailpolish and don’t post stupid conspiracy theories on message boards. So let’s not fool ourselves into thinking EITHER that all of Adam’s fans are BSC Glambert Lambskanks, OR that the BSCs make up less than 1% of 1%.

Same goes for the Kristards, BTW. Though, I will say that while a very small percentage of those who post homophobic crap on Adam stories may be Kris fans, the vast majority are homophobic trolls who post on EVERY celebrity or news story remotely related to gay issues. Remember, just because someone doesn’t like Adam doesn’t mean they are a Kris fan by default. Hate to say it, but most people DON’T GIVE A SHIT EITHER WAY.

Now that you’re an official Kristard (seriously, I wish I had recorded you tarding post-show– you’re TOTALLY downplaying it here!), will you be road-tripping along the East Coast with us? You could totally be a groupie.

Well this make me want to spit out some superlatives that I won’t post here….Nothing funny about making fun of anyone and making generalization of a fan group regardless. You act like you are on some high road and you are not better then those you make fun. You are the perfect example of some Kris fans who are not nice either and hide behind their inappropriate attitude and behavior by saying that the ones they make fun of deserve it. I am not a religious person but I do believe in the concept of treating others like you want to be treated. Not matter how they behave. Your absolute desire in regaling in tearing down others and insinuating they are crazy is sad. I am a Kris and Adam and Allison fan and I don’t enjoy any fan that takes pleasure in taking pot shots at another. I couldn’t even enjoy you parts on Allison and Kris. All three were fantastic. I am so glad that three of them hold onto their friendship even when their fans act like asses. This does include you! Of course people are going to be offended by your slant that is exactly what you were going for. You reap what you sow.

Oh so when someone does something against Kris then we can be serious and and through out hate and ridicule. But when one is making fun or calling other human beings Cows and Crazy well that is just good fun. Look I don’t condone any inappropriate behavior from any fan group but I also don’t profess to act all high and mighty and and use that to behave as bad or worse then those who maybe wrong in their behavior also. My objection is to say anyone is bad and we are such goodies goodies and then spew the vile that one does. Is there a small sect of Adam fans that are obnoxious and rude. YES. but the percentage is less the the norm and they way things are written you would think there are only a few “sane” Adam fans. You really think Kris would be happy with the vile and rude remarks that are thrown at his friend. Adam would be pissed at those who do it to Kris. I believe if you are a real fan you would honor you Idols friends. No matter what any of you think Kris and Adam and Allison are friends Good friends and if you were at that concert it was more then obvious.

Lastly this is TopIdol site and really she can do whatever she wants on her blog but then if you have a blog and you are going to post stuff that will obviously hurt and piss certain people off then don’t complain when they voice the disapproval. You open yourself up to it. That is what I mean by you reap what you so. Don’t spew out crap and then complain when it gets thrown back at you.

I guess I really feel like the lucky one as I love Kris Adam and Allison and had such a treat being able to see them all at the same venue and even preform a song together and not feel disdain or any hateful or bad feelings what so ever just pure love and enjoyment. Sorry for those who look for the hate and pessimistic view.

Happy Valentines Day to all. I really don’t have ill will towards any of you just don’t understand the joy of tearing people down.

Well she did say she was drunk and you know, some people get mean when they drink. 🙂

I have only been to one AI concert and I didn’t go to the barricades, so I don’t know how big the OTT Glambert problem is. I live in Los Angeles so I’m going to the Fantasy Springs concert and since it is just about sold out, (I think only 100 tickets left out of 3600) I should get a better picture of the OTT fandom. Of course I don’t have the best seat decided late in the game t go so I will probably miss out on some of the action.

I will add, however, after reading the various internet boards, Kris seems to have just as many mean fans as Adam does. I don’t think either group gets a gold star for being the best fans evah! I agree with the poster who said 15 percent of all fanbases are filled with nutters. Kris (why did that woman stick her tongue down my throat?) Allen carries the same burden.

I really don’t see a lot of “normal-person” mockery here. Adam does have quite a few “interesting” (to say the least) followers. Non-crazies don’t get ridiculed…There’s some Adam tarding here …although admittedly pretty sane, and usually by the same four people 🙂 . I don’t think TI has ever mocked them, or Adam fans in general. It’s a shame for him that there’s just something about him that seems to draw in the loons. Idiocy is what gets mocked. (you gotta admit there are some certifiable nuts out there….exhibit A: Lawler/chef Kerry Kolsch, who you should be familiar with if you’re @PF)

TI can’t really use her power of writing for good on a snark blog (too boring). But you should stick around for the show recaps, they are awesome. (or go back and read some of last season’s …totally hilarious, unless you’re a Gokey fan, then I wouldn’t recommend it ,lol)

I get what you are saying I just think that in order for the craziness to stop or the lashing out or fan waring someone has got to take the higher ground and I find it is usually best to start with who you think is the advisable ones. See I am a Kris and Adam fan equally. Believe I am defensive about Kris on places I go that bash him. Though Honestly Kris bashing is not as vile as Adam bashing. but that not here not there. I just want you to know I am not in some fantasy world that there are not Some really disturb Adam fans just as there are also some Disturbed Kris fans but Adam gets these basically ,not out of the realm of Idol fandom, written about more because the media is more interested in any dirt on him because it bring out hits. Good or Bad Kris having OTT fans most likely would not be made into news because he himself is not controversial. Anyway I digress. I will stick around for the Show Blog post. Again I have been lurker here for months now but never did see her show blogs. Season 9 would be a perfect time to start as I have no interest in any of them at this point. NO ONE.

Oh one last think I think there is never and excuse to not take the higher ground. It may not be easy but it is called higher ground for a reason. It means you have to work and walk up hill to get there. Thank you for you reply and being civil. I respond well to civility and reason. 🙂

I’m pretty new here myself, but I don’t get the “slant” you’re talking about. From reading a few of the blog posts, I get “outright disdain” for the idiotic glamberts’ entertaining actions. There’s no high road to be on. High roads can only be taken by the oppressed. TI and the commenters here are “casual observers” who occasionally enjoy the idiocy displayed by some fan groups — almost always that glamberts. (BTW, does using “idiotic” when describing the glamberts seem redundant?)

Yes, we rag on OTT glamberts but they make it SO easy. Besides, most of us thrive on sarcasm b/c that’s the only way to survive this fandom. Course have mainly watched the Adam vids but will work my way through the others too, the Kradison Crazy was unbelievable – just seems they had so much fun. I doubt it would ever happen – and of course no glambert will be happy unless Adam was headlining lol – but I would love to see a tour with all 3. Because he told his fans they were crazy, obviously. This continues to amuse me:

      http://gaysocialites.com/2010/02/i_heard_adam_lambert_is_a_mess.html

Why the group of his kind are the ones bashing him hard? no wonder you are hated by many, Adam is doing your community proud, you should be appreciative like him and not apprehensive. What’s the big deal about being drunk, he’s human too and it happens to many, you just can’t accept that he’s too famous now and brave for being who he is, and still being supported by his ever supportive fans. Please leave him alone.

I HEARD I HEARD I HEARD ADAM THIS ADAM THAT DID YOU SEE IT NO SO SHUT UP AND STOP TRYING TO SMEAR A FINE YOUNG EXTRA AMAZINGLY TALENTED MAN AS FAR AS ADAM’S CROTCH GOES DONT WORRY THERE IS PLENTY THERE FOR EVERYONE MEN OR WOMEN INCLUDED ( JOKING ) OF COURSE HE IS SO SEXY TO MEN AND WOMEN TAHT YOU GAY FOLKS ARE THERATED ADAM IS IS NOT HE OWNS HIS SEXUALITY AND DRIVES SPRAKLE COWS AND LITTLE CALFS TONS OF TEENAGERS TO SCREAM WHEN HE SHOWS UP MANY OF THEM YOUNG TINY GORGEOUS SKINNY SUPER SEXY GIRLS SO DEAL WTH IT ADAM IS LOVED RESPECTED DESIRED BY ALL SO POO ON YOU. ZSUZSI VICTORIA CANADA

Hey, “Gay News for Gay Men” suggest you look for a new story and a new writer. This one is crap, and you should be embarrassed for supporting ignorant BS like this. If you weren’t so hung up with jealousy, animosity and pure hate, you would realize that Adam Lambert has done more for gay acceptance and tolerance than anyone in recent time, including Gaga. And don’t start with me saying I don’t know anything because I do!!

I went there and left this:

Thanks for writing about Adam Lambert’s night on the town. I loved every tawdry and elicit detail. It is gratifying to hear about the drunken escapes of a gay celebrity, especially one that is so open about it. A welcomed change from the closet cases and bimbettes-du-jour sightings that dominate most gossip pages. I am also glad that he was able to unwind and let his freak flag fly after his set at the Highline. It must take a lot out of a guy to have to sing about “every inch of his love” while looking into the faces of lust-filled octogenarians and heifers. By the way, he has normal fans too. We are just not over-the-top obnoxious, so most people don’t know we exist.

“Adam Lambert has done more for gay acceptance and tolerance than anyone in recent time, including Gaga. And don’t start with me saying I don’t know anything because I do!!”

Having never met Lady Gaga or Adam I don’t want to speak for them, but I am pretty sure they are intelligent enough to know that “gay acceptance and tolerance” is more than just seeing who can wear the most sparkles and glitter on stage, which seems to be the skewed perception these ladies have. As much as I enjoy Gaga I do find it telling that she is the yardstick this commenter is using to measure progress, especially since she thinks Adam has done more than ANYONE to advance the cause. ANYONE? Really? More than the Stonewall protesters? Harvey Milk? The Matthew Shepard Foundation? The HRC? Sigh. This is a losing battle…isn’t it?

        • Lauren permalink
          February 15, 2010 4:08 am

I actually have to disagree. Gaga has been amazing for the gay rights movement. She spoke at the National Equality March and is never afraid to voice her opinion in an interview.
Of course, she can’t be compared with the likes of Harvey Milk and the Matthew Shepard Foundation, but I would say, of everyone currently in the spotlight, Gaga is doing the most.

          • February 15, 2010 4:23 am

Oh yes, I am not saying that Gaga hasn’t been vocal – I agree with you for sure. What frustrates me is that said commenter probably doesn’t even know she spoke at the NEM, or performed at the HRC dinner last year, etc; it seems to me she just brought up Gaga because Adam has expressed his love for her. It just saddens me that some people’s frame of reference is so limited.

Of course I am ragging on this anonymous commenter and she [or maybe even he!] could be calling their Congress member everyday. But we’ll never know. Oh interwebz. You so crazy like that.

Sure, sweetheart, the people who can better express their opinions, sweetheart, tend to have an advantage, sweetheart. But that’s the way the world has always been, sweetheart. Sorry, sweetheart! Ya see, this is why GLAMTARDS have the reputation of being assholes.

Top Idol recounted her experience. HER experience. Not yours, not mine, HERS! Adam Lambert does not need to be at the center of everyone’s universe. That fact that he is at the center of yours, may skew your perception. This was a great post. It was very complimentary towards Adam and I have read many that haven’t been. I agree, that Adam does engage with his band. I have seen him do it, I have heard him speak about wanting to showcase their talents. He may have engaged less during this performance, but then again I am sure with all the fainting and bulge-groping he was distracted.

I am an Adam fan. So much so, that I take exception at the behavior of tards like yourself, that feel it necessary to attack EVERY opinion about Adam that doesn’t align with your own. It is rude and selfish, much in the way leaving the concert before Kris’ set was finished or harassing DJs is rude and selfish.

      This behavior needs to STOP!!!

I have to be honest — if I were either of them, I wouldn’t go near any Adam gigs. Because if they report on them, they get buried in crap. Maybe they like the controversy and the hits, but… I think I would spend my time differently.

Lyndsey is different, because she reallyreallyreally likes Adam, so she has other reasons than journalism to want to go. But Slezak or Cantiello? Hmm… I just wonder.

It drives me insane because even Lyndsey, who is a big Adam fan, she still gets her share of ridiculous backlash. For instance, on her Kradison concert review, someone wrote this:

What do you mean “the diva he’s often made out to be”? Name ONE PERSON who ever said that? And nice crack about pancaked face. Some day Adam Lambert will understand that you’re all a waste of his time and stop giving interviews to faux bloggers who just can’t resist taking shots to look oh so amusing.

Glamberts don’t think any discussion of Adam is true and “unbiased” unless said discussion proclaims him the greatest rock god superstar of all time. And god forbid the same writer also dole out some praise to Kris. That is the worst crime ever!

So true, Yuppie. The funny thing is as much as Glamberts accuse Slezak and Jim of being biased Kristards, they usually praise Adam as much or more than Kris in their recaps. Allison too. Some of the crazier Glamberts read the articles and don’t see the words “rawk gawd”, “coffee house performer”, “bar background music”, “weak vocals”, “greater than Elvis, The Beatles, Queen, and Led Zeppelin combined”, so they go apeshit and accuse them, even Slezak, of being biased homophobes.

Oh, don’t you know? The new and improved definition of “homophobe” is “anyone who doesn’t believe Adam Lambert is the second coming of Jesus/Elvis/Michael Jackson.”

No homophobe still means a fear of homosexuality, a HOMEPHOBE is anyone who doesn’t believe Adam Lambert is the second coming of Jesus/Elvis/Michael Jackson.

Oh, just a homephobe. (Notice the lack of caps)

        Ohhh my fraking gosh.
Look, I used to tard over David Archuleta, and if someone said he looked like he was 5 and was extremely awkward, I’d still acknowledge the fact, b/c even when you’re a tard, you still SEE THINGS.
These tards are BAAAAAD. I have lived in Tardville. And it has gotten waaaaaay worse since season 7. I laugh.

Hahaha! I love seeing you embrace your tardom, even if not owning it completely yet. Want to come with us to the Bahamas for Kris’s concert there? Sorry, I cannot pay your way. But, damn, I would love to go to a Kris concert with you!

(Gossip Candy, though? What was she like? She says some extremely nasty things about Katy Allen on her blog. Not a fan.)

I so want to go to that concert in the Bahamas. Don’t know if I can afford it though…I’ve been checking out the hotel prices and they are crazy expensive. Have you already booked your trip?
