NYC wins the Ryan Rock My Town contest (Fraumageddon II)
While Little Rock fought the good fight, NYC won the Ryan, Rock My Town contest. Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta will be traveling to the Big Apple for a big ol’ concert.
Fraumageddon II
YESSSSSSSS!!!!!
While I do appreciate Little Rock’s tenacity, hey, even Adam Lambert wanted to go back there because he loved the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd in Arkansas during the tour, NYC was always going to win. It’s easier/cheaper to fly there, and we all know there’s gonna be lots of crazy folk traveling to Manhattan for the show.
I’m even going to go! Oh yes, since its only a few hours from where I live, why not? I actually think it might be kind of good, mainly because I don’t have to hear Don’t Stop Believin’.
So who else is coming?
Oh, right. Kris Allen fans are all svelte, all sane and polite (calling others “frauen” and “sparkle cows” notwithstanding, correct?), never pushy or stalkery. Talking about taking photos of fans at concerts, nothing weird about THAT, oh, no. Wearing Allen plaid and Converse sneakers at a rock concert is so very normal.
Bwahahahahah!!
Sorry, kids, but your age isn’t a free pass to not looking in the mirror.
All the idols but her seem to have a small militant sect.
The Sparkle Cows are not small in any way.
Sorry I should have said “at least a small militant sect.”
Why don’t they just do a mini tour? All three of them could use the sales boost.
Yes! And they should come to Baltimore 😀
I really don’t like the idea of the three of them on tour together again.
WHAT? How can you not love Kradison?
IKR! The ONLY reason it’s a problem is b/c there are a few people who want to make it a problem. I didn’t get to go to any tour appearances, but from what I heard, by far, most people were appreciative of all the idols!
I mean, I only had one encounter…Maybe the Glamberts didn’t scream as loud for Kris but only one person actually got up and left that I could see. I think the fantabulous of a Kradison concert would definitely outweigh any negative fanwar like behavior 🙂
Side Note: Has anyone ever heard of a malicious Allison fan? All the idols but her seem to have a small militant sect.
Sadly, there are some whackos on IDF who write lesbian fan fic with her in it…while everyone knows my feelings on fan fic, I have a particular problem when they’re writing it about kids under 18. Same thing with Archuleta. Not right.
I agree. Adison fan fic is gross too. Umm 10 year age difference!
Screw all this fanwar bullshit. I just wish I could go to the damn concert! I would love to see Kris and Allison live again. I would even enjoy seeing Adam as a couple of songs from his album have grown on me and he’s fun to watch. I for one am hoping that it won’t be a war… ahhh, to live in a perfect world.
“Screw all this fanwar bullshit. I just wish I could go to the damn concert!”
My sentiments precisely 😦
The fanwar bullshit will never stop as long as people keep making comments like this:
Yeah, they totally sidestepped that landmine thanks to Adam. *rolls eyes*
I want to personally bitch slap the asswipe who made that comment.
hahahaha! so much for my “fanwar bullshit” stance. Just hate that they choose to insult HBD’s family and somehow give credit to Adam for something that he had nothing to do with.
I laughed when Jim C asked Adam about all the fanwar crap and Adam was like, “I don’t care where we do it” he also went on to say (not exact quote) “BTW- I am actually from San Diego/ LA- why don’t my fans vote for there?”
Sparkle Cows- think all the glitter has gotten to your brains benches!
Haha! I saw a comment,( I believe @ Mj’s) that said something to the effect that they were glad that the concert would be in NYC instead of LR, because that meant that “regular people would be attending.” (as opposed to the irregular people who would be attending in LR? HUH? Are they all fiber deficient? Or one leg slightly shorter? I’m assuming they meant “regular” in reference to the “fact” that the people in attendance would obviously be other Glamberts, seeing as how they were outside of that 50 mile LR radius. God knows there are no HBD fans outside that circle!)
A lot of upper East Coasters view that entire region as country hicks. This attitude extends down to Maryland. Yes, we consider one state below us hickville but still feel that we are in Suburbia. Idk…I think that’s probably what they were referring to.
You’re probably right, I wonder though how different that people in different parts of the country actually are? Different regions always have a reputation (which is based somewhat in truth, I guess) But over the last 40 yrs or so (with all the improvements in technology) I would think the differences would be less apparent (maybe except for accents). It’s just weird that so many of the regional stereotypes persist today, even among young people (notheasterners=pushy, rude, southerners=hillbilly rednecks, west coasters=laid back surfer/stoner types, midwesterners= fat conservatives).
Yeah it’s OT…just wondering though, lol …I remember during the season that I read a comment from someone seriously wondering if Kris and Katy were cousins or siblings *rolls eyes*. (Actually there were several posters at Mj’s who said a lot of inappropiate things, but I think they were trying to start shit…which they did)
Really, I’m sure there are differences but our stereotypes just exaggerate them. I mean I try not to stereotype but I fail…a lot.
“I remember during the season that I read a comment from someone seriously wondering if Kris and Katy were cousins or siblings”
Haha I read that somewhere too! Multiple times I believe…*Sigh*
New Glambert theory:
“I’m pretty sure it’s rigged. Seacrest does NOT want to go to effin’ Little Rock (no offense to Arkansas Adam fans).”
Yes, Seacrest, who we’ve established is a SoCal surfer/stoner :), despises the South because of all of the inbred hicks. Isn’t he originally from Georgia?
Not to mention the fact he has to go to whatever city they audition people in…And he always looks like he’s having a decent time.
That’s a ridiculous statement. Even if it was rigged, I’m sure as hell sure that is not the reason.
Lol Claire. You have to remember Glambert logic conveniently leaves out anything that doesn’t support their beliefs.
I’ve seen a lot of photos of Glamberts…geography has nothing to do with “normal”.
Fuck, Season 9 can’t come soon enough…even football season isn’t satisfying me (witness the end of the Saints streak tonight 😦 …sorry TI I know Brees is your boy).
The whole set up of this show is wonky…wish they had made it clear that when they meant “Rock MY Town” they meant it literally, for only residents of THAT town. I have this creeping feeling its going to consist of mostly industry folks and feel more like a “private show.”
I’m not sure industry folks would go within 1,000 feet of that venue unless they have tweens they want to please. Nah, they’ll be at the first solo shows in NYC and LA. This will be Thunderdome.
“Two frauen enter, one frau leaves.”
Lol! I’d love to see this promoted that way! (In this corner, weighing 325 lbs…)
This should revive the fan wars nicely. Unless the sparkle cows spot a new piece to drool over once Season 9 starts. Doubt it though.
OMG the Kradison thread at MJ’s is so ridic.
Have been a lurker forever here; thanks TI, for making it so we can laugh at all of this Idol ridiculousness and not take it all so seriously. I just needed to vent, though: this RMT concert is such a crappy way to keep the fanwars going. I hate the whole thing.
And on a side-note, Q3 at MJ’s is an obnoxious know-it-all.
Your side note is absolutely correct. Not to mention the posting of questionable and misleading information.
Is Q3 the self-proclaimed marketing guru or something like that? I might be confusing them with others, so many obnoxious characters there anyway.
You got it. And then posts airplay information she doesn’t understand and tries to make a coherent conclusion from it.
Gah. The fanwars are ON. People @ MJ’s rehashing the doings from past events. Supposedly fans would dump food on the seats of the fans of “the enemy” to force them to stand up for the set of their fav. We may see eye-gouging, hair-pulling, and face-slapping through a glittery cloud of plaid this year. Whoever gets tickets may want to point their cameras at the crowd.
I hope there is no booing, walking out etc… I hope for civility (though judging by MJ’s, I wonder)…Adam, Kris, and Allison probably have NO IDEA the set order is such a big frickin’ deal.
Really, already? There will be booing and walking out sadly. I literally saw people obviously get up and walk past everyone trying to see during Kris’ set. My friend actually flicked off one of these people. I mean, I was wearing an Adam-tard shirt, but I would never consider being that rude! Even to Gokey!
I agree! Mean people suck!
I know! If I am able to miraculously go, I will hold up a sign that says “If you try to walk out on any of my idols, it will be the last time you ever walk” Not really, but I’m a ready to pick a fight with someone who disrespects any of them.
I love frau fights
This could end up being the mother of all frau fights. After all, it IS Fraumageddon II: Judgment Day.
Imagine if they added David Cook to the lineup?
“Supposedly fans would dump food on the seats of the fans of “the enemy” to force them to stand up for the set of their fav.”
that’s rather clever
that’s rather clever
:blankstare: :wtf:
You are brilliant.
I live in NYC, so I might go, but I am not paying exorbitant prices, no way. Why don’t they just pick a large enough venue so everyone who wants to go can go ? They probably want to create a maximum excitement over the show by limiting the number of tickets.
I know! They could make so much money off of this. I’m willing to spend my entire college fund on this concert! Well maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but REALLY!
And can’t you just see the warring frauen now?
Oh gosh, the fighting for the tickets is going to be horrid!
The fighting for the front row will be horrid!
Being front row would be awesome but then you’d have to watch your back and worry about getting trampled by crazy fantards who’ve never been to concert before. That is if it’s general admittance and not assigned seats.
If I win tickets (I’m totally eligible,) one is totally yours.
Have you guys seen THIS?
Well, at least the Glambuldge is happy.
Ewww…..
Lauren, I adore you. That photo is a keeper!
I’m posting that shit.
Yay!
copied from Mj’s:
People are speculating tickets will be sold in addition to the free tix for the winners.
It’s sponsored by StubHub, a ticket aggregator/resale vendor. I would imagine some tickets would be sold, via StubHub, of course.
DAMN IT!!!!! DAMN IT!!!! DAMN IT!!!! My entire state is ineligible.
Watch out sparklecows, I am so there.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Congratulations to New York City for winning our “Ryan, Rock My Town”
NYC residents, check back to ryanseacrest.com soon and follow Ryan on Twitter for more information on how YOU can get tickets to the show! We will be announcing the concert date and venue soon!
THIS SUCKS! I have to FOLLOW Ryan on twitter…and MAYBE get tickets. That was not made clear during the contest. I thought they would be available for purchase. WTF!
Ridiculous. If they are gonna do this, they should make tickets available to everyone who wants to purchase one as a reward for voting. You probably have to be the 12th caller or something to win. Lame.
I know. I’m annoyed that it’s probably going to be hard as hell to get a ticket.
This really does seem like they misled in the marketing. I certainly thought it would be either in a big space, and free to anyone who showed up, or a simple lottery situation with the first so many people getting automatic tickets. Only 600 people? That should have been much clearer in the rules. I do love the stipulation about having to be from within 50 miles of the city, but again, they should have been clear about that too.
The irony is that something tells me that if Little Rock had won, the city would have been a lot more accommodating with a larger venue. It would be a much bigger deal there.
I want good Glambert footage more than I want concert footage at this point. Document the nastiness and entitlement for the ages! lol
ETA: I see they are doing the lottery. Spoke too soon. Oops.
I will be there. When are the tickets going on sale? I hope they play Radio City. I also hope that they actually perform in NYC and not NJ or LI.
You have to go!! I’m counting on a recap. I’ve heard the ticket-getting process (and nobody seems to know exactly what that is??) will be restrictive…only 600 tickets! But surely somebody that has done a TweetBeat voice-over and attented Jim’s karaoke birthday party can get in!!
attended not attented. crap.
Between Pamela Anderson and Lambert, what’s the spackle budget for this Gridlock NYE?
http://www.gridlockla.com
Gossip Candy ask for donations so she and her girlfriend could attend the Gridlock event. She raised enough money to cover her expenses in a few hours with money left over to buy a new outfit. Top Idol maybe you should do that.
It’s not that big of a deal for me, in all seriousness. And I know I have a donation button on my blog now, but that’s going to go to the cost of getting my “new” site up and running.
I love everyone who comes over here and reads my stuff, you have no idea. I’m surprised anyone does. But as much as I love you guys, no one will be paying for my travel.
Plus, I would want a trip to say, Iceland, than to the Ryan Rock My Town concert. Ha. But while it would be fun to catch the show in NYC, I won’t cry or die or think much of it if I don’t go. Hell, I wouldn’t even spend a ton of cash on a ticket for a super-duper incredible show of my favorite artists.
So, does that mean if I can get an extra ticket you wouldn’t want it?
Oh, that’s different. If someone gives another person a ticket, invites someone to go somewhere, that’s a different ballgame.
I figure its the only way I’ll end up going, if someone has an extra ticket, or they go on sale and don’t cost a fortune, or I somehow manage to swing a press pass without trying very hard.
I do wonder when its going to be, don’t you?
As of now, the only way we know that you can go is by winning tickets (and you had to have voted for the winning city and live w/i 50 miles of it to be eligible to win). The whole thing is very vague on whether there will even be tickets for sale.
Are you kidding me? That’s ridiculous.
Well, the scampering for tickets might be fun to watch. Wonder how much an Extreme Glambert would pay to get in…
$1200.
I will pay any amount of money, provided my mom allows me to go of course.
Get a journalist’s credentials. You’re going to review the thing anyway. It’s usually not that hard for things like this. Well, outside the Idol bubble. No harm in asking, regardless. You and mj.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I live in Maryland. That’s much more than 50 miles.
