NYC wins the Ryan Rock My Town contest (Fraumageddon II)

December 19, 2009

While Little Rock fought the good fight, NYC won the Ryan, Rock My Town contest. Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta will be traveling to the Big Apple for a big ol’ concert.

Fraumageddon II

YESSSSSSSS!!!!!

While I do appreciate Little Rock’s tenacity, hey, even Adam Lambert wanted to go back there because he loved the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd in Arkansas during the tour, NYC was always going to win. It’s easier/cheaper to fly there, and we all know there’s gonna be lots of crazy folk traveling to Manhattan for the show.

I’m even going to go! Oh yes, since its only a few hours from where I live, why not? I actually think it might be kind of good, mainly because I don’t have to hear Don’t Stop Believin’.

So who else is coming?

Oh, right. Kris Allen fans are all svelte, all sane and polite (calling others “frauen” and “sparkle cows” notwithstanding, correct?), never pushy or stalkery. Talking about taking photos of fans at concerts, nothing weird about THAT, oh, no. Wearing Allen plaid and Converse sneakers at a rock concert is so very normal.
    Bwahahahahah!!
Sorry, kids, but your age isn’t a free pass to not looking in the mirror.

The Sparkle Cows are not small in any way.

Why don’t they just do a mini tour? All three of them could use the sales boost.

IKR! The ONLY reason it’s a problem is b/c there are a few people who want to make it a problem. I didn’t get to go to any tour appearances, but from what I heard, by far, most people were appreciative of all the idols!

I mean, I only had one encounter…Maybe the Glamberts didn’t scream as loud for Kris but only one person actually got up and left that I could see. I think the fantabulous of a Kradison concert would definitely outweigh any negative fanwar like behavior 🙂
Side Note: Has anyone ever heard of a malicious Allison fan? All the idols but her seem to have a small militant sect.

Sadly, there are some whackos on IDF who write lesbian fan fic with her in it…while everyone knows my feelings on fan fic, I have a particular problem when they’re writing it about kids under 18. Same thing with Archuleta. Not right.

Screw all this fanwar bullshit. I just wish I could go to the damn concert! I would love to see Kris and Allison live again. I would even enjoy seeing Adam as a couple of songs from his album have grown on me and he’s fun to watch. I for one am hoping that it won’t be a war… ahhh, to live in a perfect world.

The fanwar bullshit will never stop as long as people keep making comments like this:

“I think that having the concert in LR would have been extremely shortsighted from a PR/Media/Industry Exposure point of view, and I’m very glad that Adam had enough business savvy to step up to the plate and save Kris from his abysmally shortsighted family.”

Yeah, they totally sidestepped that landmine thanks to Adam. *rolls eyes*

hahahaha! so much for my “fanwar bullshit” stance. Just hate that they choose to insult HBD’s family and somehow give credit to Adam for something that he had nothing to do with.
I laughed when Jim C asked Adam about all the fanwar crap and Adam was like, “I don’t care where we do it” he also went on to say (not exact quote) “BTW- I am actually from San Diego/ LA- why don’t my fans vote for there?”

Sparkle Cows- think all the glitter has gotten to your brains benches!

Haha! I saw a comment,( I believe @ Mj’s) that said something to the effect that they were glad that the concert would be in NYC instead of LR, because that meant that “regular people would be attending.” (as opposed to the irregular people who would be attending in LR? HUH? Are they all fiber deficient? Or one leg slightly shorter? I’m assuming they meant “regular” in reference to the “fact” that the people in attendance would obviously be other Glamberts, seeing as how they were outside of that 50 mile LR radius. God knows there are no HBD fans outside that circle!)

A lot of upper East Coasters view that entire region as country hicks. This attitude extends down to Maryland. Yes, we consider one state below us hickville but still feel that we are in Suburbia. Idk…I think that’s probably what they were referring to.

          • deez permalink
            December 21, 2009 6:50 pm

You’re probably right, I wonder though how different that people in different parts of the country actually are? Different regions always have a reputation (which is based somewhat in truth, I guess) But over the last 40 yrs or so (with all the improvements in technology) I would think the differences would be less apparent (maybe except for accents). It’s just weird that so many of the regional stereotypes persist today, even among young people (notheasterners=pushy, rude, southerners=hillbilly rednecks, west coasters=laid back surfer/stoner types, midwesterners= fat conservatives).

Yeah it’s OT…just wondering though, lol …I remember during the season that I read a comment from someone seriously wondering if Kris and Katy were cousins or siblings *rolls eyes*. (Actually there were several posters at Mj’s who said a lot of inappropiate things, but I think they were trying to start shit…which they did)

“I’m pretty sure it’s rigged. Seacrest does NOT want to go to effin’ Little Rock (no offense to Arkansas Adam fans).”

Yes, Seacrest, who we’ve established is a SoCal surfer/stoner :), despises the South because of all of the inbred hicks. Isn’t he originally from Georgia?

The whole set up of this show is wonky…wish they had made it clear that when they meant “Rock MY Town” they meant it literally, for only residents of THAT town. I have this creeping feeling its going to consist of mostly industry folks and feel more like a “private show.”

Gah. The fanwars are ON. People @ MJ’s rehashing the doings from past events. Supposedly fans would dump food on the seats of the fans of “the enemy” to force them to stand up for the set of their fav. We may see eye-gouging, hair-pulling, and face-slapping through a glittery cloud of plaid this year. Whoever gets tickets may want to point their cameras at the crowd.

I hope there is no booing, walking out etc… I hope for civility (though judging by MJ’s, I wonder)…Adam, Kris, and Allison probably have NO IDEA the set order is such a big frickin’ deal.

This really does seem like they misled in the marketing. I certainly thought it would be either in a big space, and free to anyone who showed up, or a simple lottery situation with the first so many people getting automatic tickets. Only 600 people? That should have been much clearer in the rules. I do love the stipulation about having to be from within 50 miles of the city, but again, they should have been clear about that too.

The irony is that something tells me that if Little Rock had won, the city would have been a lot more accommodating with a larger venue. It would be a much bigger deal there.

It’s not that big of a deal for me, in all seriousness. And I know I have a donation button on my blog now, but that’s going to go to the cost of getting my “new” site up and running.
